Mamas & their babies
Welcome to our first segment of “Mamas & their babies”.
Ever since I had Lily, I have met so many wonderful mamas and babies.
I’m surrounded by wonderful women from all different walks of life, ethnicity, religion.
The common thread?
Motherhood.
I have decided to dedicate a weekly post to them so that way I can also share them with you.
Every week I will introduce a new mama & her baby and ask them the same 10 questions.
I would like to start with Patty and Niko who I met through my dear friend Min.
Q- How old are you Patty?
A- 36
Q- Where were you born?
A- In Miami but raised in Columbia
Q- How long have you lived in Miami?
A- 16 years.
Q- How old were you when you had Niko?
A- 34
Q- How old is Niko?
A- 14 months
Q- Did you breast feed and if so, for how long?
A- Yes. Just short of 12 months.
Q- Are you a stay at home mom or a working mom?
A- A working (single) mom. Self employed.
Q- What was the hardest part for you of becoming a mom?
A- Breast feeding. I had an inverted nipple and it was very painful. Also, not having enough time to do all that I want to do.
Q- How did you come up with the name Niko?
A- I wanted something short, with 3 syllables and something that was easily pronounced in every language.
Q- What is the best advice you would give to a new mom?
A- Enjoy your child. They grow so fast. You only have them small once.
