georgia o’keeffe. an art exercise

on one of our last playdates with Carmen and Sophia, Carmen was telling me about an art exercise they do at Sophia’s school
the art teacher introduces an artist and a piece of art work by that artist and then the students have to do their own interpretation of the work
i thought it to be such a great idea that i decided to incorporate that with Lily during our art time
i chose one of my Georgia O’Keeffe’s books because Lily likes flowers and i thought she would enjoy all the colors
she took her time looking through the book, asking about the flowers and then chose the watercolor red canna which you see above
she also chose pencils instead of watercolor
this was a great way to teach Lily about the artist and a fun art exercise
i think she did a great job too
if you have a little one, you should try it
or even try it on your own
