ok, so here we go…. disney
i have to confess, and i am going to speak for both Will and i when i say this, i think it’s fair to say that both of us were a little scared about going to disney
i know, scared of the happiest place on earth!?
neither Will nor i do that well in big crowds of people (and neither does Lily really) so the fact that we knew that we would have to be amongst big lines and big crowds everywhere… well, that kind of scared the shit out of us
with the exception of speaking with a few friends who have been there, we had no idea what to expect
other than lots of people
i had never been
and Will was there when he was a little boy
the advice we received from our friends was most appreciated and helpful
the best tip was to get fast passes for the rides we really wanted to go on
that in itself was a frustrating pre trip online moment
since we had never been, how were we supposed to know which rides we wanted to go on?
anyway, we got fast passes for all three days that we were there
and we were super happy with the ones we got
i don’t want to make this post longer than it already is with all the pictures (did i take enough pictures!?) and it’s late so, i’m going to try to do a proper disney advice post in the near future
cause you know, we are disney pros now
this was our first day there
a wonderful day where we walked all day (yes, Lily too) and made the most out of magical kingdom
so much so that Lily passed out at the restaurant once she was done with dinner (see picture here)
the girl was done
the girl had had a wonderful day
the girl had had some of her disney dreams come true…
it was late when we arrived thursday night. but when we woke up friday morning, we were greeted by a beautiful sunrise (and again on sunday when we left)
we took our time getting ready and then it was off to the monorail which was conveniently located in our hotel (the contemporary)
a beautiful day and beautiful views from the monorail
hello mary poppins! our first disney character viewing
omg the palace!!!! Lily was squealing at this point
finally breathing that magical disney air
our first stop was tomorrowland where we got started on some fun rides and where the reality of being at disney started setting in
next stop, adventureland
unfortunately splash mountain was closed for renovations
but the tree house was on!
the show outside of the palace…. Lily was mesmerized. we saw this show twice on this day and once again the day we left. she loved it so much it got me all teary eyed
see what i mean?
pirates of the caribbean. she really loved this one too. we went twice
jungle cruise. totally fake animals but fun
lunch time. everyone was hangry
back to the show outside the palace. this time front row seats
inside the palace to meet ana and elsa. it was almost a two hour wait. by far the longest line we stood in but we had to. i mean…. elsa!
with elsa. omg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
omg i just met princesses
and as it began to drizzle, we found a dry ride. Will and Lily went twice in a row. and then again the last day
going under the sea
it’s a small world after all
a parade with extra happy people
the light parade deserves its own post. aside from watching Lily in total awe of everything, the light parade at the end of our day was my most favorite thing. i loved it so much. it was so beautiful
