a garden update
i have a few miami spring bloom posts set up from drives through different neighborhoods, parks and around our neighborhood as well
however, despite the lack of rain, our garden has been doing some pretty amazing things lately
well, i think so anyway
so this week i share with you yet again our orchids, hibiscus and several others
joining Annie with how does your garden grow?
these are basically my pride and joy in the garden. shhhhhhh don’t tell the others
so happy to see our small desert rose tree blooming again. it had been over a year
watch your head. it’s mango season. and our tree is loaded
oooooooo ahhhhhhhhh avocados. i strongly dislike the avocado tree. mostly because it’s blooming again, thinks it’s fall so there are massive amounts of leaves everywhere including in the pool. next house, no fruit trees. palm trees only
ok, i do like these guys. so maybe small citrus trees only. and palms
remember the super invasive air potato leaves? look what i found in our own garden!
the cardinals have been visiting us every day. sometimes several times a day
slight hints of purple. this weed. i didn’t pull it
our blooming cuban oregano (this is miami after all)
the water hyacinth game in the pond has been strong for the past two weeks. there have been as many as six of them at a time
there are a few of these on the vine now and i just love how delicate they are
our small gardenia tree bloomed! it had been over two years i think
and the hibiscus… there have been lots of them. no complaints here

Oh to have fruit like that growing in the garden and bright birds flying about! And water hyacinths, spooky timing, just as I share your older ones, maybe it’s some womanhood moon-cycles syncing thing 🙂 Loving your lizard shot at the top – you really are the Queen of zooming in stealthily on things. Me, I can’t even seem to get a photo of a robin here and yet again I missed a deer shot this week – GAH!
Thanks for joining in again Claudia 🙂

Ker-pow! I love your garden. Lush and tropical. I love that the cardinals are back, such lovely birds I wish we had them in the UK. Enjoy all of your fruit!

So beautiful. I’d love to have fruit trees like that in the garden – being able to go outside and pick fruit from a tree would be a luxury 🙂 Nice to see the cardinals stopping by – do you leave food out for them?

@Gemma,
We have bird seed in the bird feeder and they seem to be happy with that.

What amazing pictures! I love the orchids and desert rose, but I got almost misty eyed over the cardinal birds and the memories of visiting cousins stateside as a child.

Oh wow just utterly fabulous Claudia. I have to say I’ve missed your garden updates while I’ve been commuting to and fro from London. Absolutely love orchids but the hibiscus and desert rose are just as special. As are the mangos and the cardinals. Just lots of awesome lovelines. Hope you’re all good x
