#californiadreaming. the getty museum

June 19 2015. 001 (75)

the first time i went to the getty museum was in two thousand seven on one of my last visits to los angeles

unlike with other museums where i fall in love with the art, with the getty, i fell in love with its architecture, its open space and its amazing views (not that it doesn’t have great art)

when Will, Lily and i set out to california, we didn’t have many set plans other than to spend some much needed time with good friends, eat mexican food and just sort of let each day unfold organically

going to the getty however was a must

and so on a perfectly sunny california morning we did just that

most museums charge per person

the getty however, charges fifteen dollars for parking each car and that is all

you can have a car loaded with people and it’s still only fifteen dollars

great, no?

for a family, the getty had a lot to offer each one of us

Lily really enjoyed the tram ride the way up to the museum (all cars park at the bottom of the hill), the family room filled with interactive kids art, the sites, but most of all getting the opportunity to sketch at the sketching gallery

Will really enjoyed the photography exhibit that was going on

and i fell in love once again with its open space and priceless views

there was a little bit for everyone…
