a garden update
i still have west virginia flowers to share with you
as well as washington dc flowers
and let’s not forget the homestead in virginia flowers
but the hibiscus in our garden having been going off!
it’s really the only thing that has been going off
but that’s ok
because they have been amazing and putting a smile on my face just about daily
joining Annie with how does your garden grow?
this hibiscus totally blows my mind. this is what it looks like when it first opens in the morning
and then this is what it looks like later on during the day. GASP! right? same hibiscus. totally different colors
ok, ready? hibiscus explosion
every once in a while a hibiscus like this blooms on this bush when all the other hibiscus look like….
this
when nature fails
let’s not forget my beloved orchids. there are still two left
when it rains
i weaved a bit
the kurkuma is still doing great
and so is my little tree with paper gardenias
another blooming aloe
papaya leaf
water hyacinth (for Annie)
and last but certainly not least, lizard on lizard. total garden magic!!!!

Loving the lizard on lizard action – he’ll be there a long time if he thinks his luck is in…
I don’t see hibiscus flowers here, though I do have a bottle of hibiscus wine from Africa (but between you and me I have no idea how healthy that particular bottle is). They are so beautiful, papery almost, they remind me of clematis of which I see a lot.
Loving the weaving! Kitty is hassling me to add more to ours – I’ll have to nick the fabric scraps bunting idea now!
Thank you for joining in Claudia, someone is stealing the time at the moment, school will be back soon so I can visit more often again.
I miss you!

@Annie,
i think hibiscus are definitely a tropical flower although we did see giant ones in virginia and washington dc where it gets cold in the winter. enjoy the rest of summer. i’m doing the same. feeling a bit sad about Lily going back to school but on the other hand happy to get my me time back. xx

Oh Wow! What fab flowers. The colours, but also the shapes. Very “Look at me”! Must be great to spot a lizard in the garden. Then again, I’d get nothing else done! #hdygg

@chickenruby,
i’m happy with the weaving and would have had a better time and done more of it if i hadn’t gotten eaten alive by mosquitoes. but you know, miami problems…

I didn’t realise the blooms were so short lived – much like my Morning Glories then.
