a garden update. black mountain
tucked away in black mountain (just a short drive away from asheville) is one of our favorite creperies, la guingette
next to it/part of it is this sweet herb ‘n greens cottage
on the last day of twenty fifteen, we stopped by to fill our bellies with the best of crepes and of course i had to be nosy and walk about to see what the garden was doing
joining Annie with how does your garden grow?
i’m such a sucker for red barns/cottages
is this how you grow garlic? they had a bunch of them like this all about so i am thinking yes?
because she matched
a poplar tree. these are the ones the cardinals love so much in our backyard. they are also what the hard wood floors in our home are made out of

i guess garlic’s ready to plant, i planted them in late october/november, but they can be planted in january too.

I love that red barn – such a deep warm colour. How wonderful to have a crepe then mooch about such an interesting place. I’ve got garlic on my ‘to grow’ list, so once I’ve read that chapter in my grow your own book, I’ll let you know whether they grow just like that!! So lovely x

What a delightful place. What’s nice at this time of year is seeing all the pots and seedlings all ready for the coming year.
