easter twenty seventeen

although we have been living in asheville for almost two years (in october), this was our first easter here

when Lily and i went to miami for spring break last year, we spent easter in our old neighborhood with our miami friends

just like for halloween, our neighborhood here pulled it together and planned a neighborhood egg hunt for the kids and a huge pot luck brunch at a neighbor’s house (the same ones who hosted halloween actually)

although we are not religious and are not raising Lily in any religion, we celebrate holidays like easter and christmas

because we grew up doing so

it is always a time for togetherness

this easter, like all the ones prior was about just that

other easters: easter twenty sixteen, easter twenty fifteen, easter twenty fourteen, easter twenty thirteen, easter twenty twelve, easter twenty eleven

Lily is slowly becoming one of the older girls. it’s all so bitter sweet…

watching Lily go through her eggs without our DD broke my heart a little. he’s always been the one to do that with her. since her very first egg hunt. and well, change is often hard. he was with us in our hearts. he always is

the kids had two playgrounds to play in between the two neighbors

fun red light, green light games
