ARTsy wednesday

ARTsy wednesday

after i finished painting this portrait, i wasn’t sure if i was fully happy with how she turned out

or if i wanted to stitch her

so i put her aside and let her sit for a while

and then one morning she called out to me so i sat down and began stitching her

i am glad i did because with the stitching, she became who she was meant to be

ARTsy wednesday

last week when i was sick as can be and could only maneuver between the bed and the couch, i was trying to get as much rest as possible but also feeling extremely anxious and guilty that a new year had begun and that i had done nothing creative yet

so i decided to grab the box of embroidery yarn that we have had for years and start stitching over the small acrylic paintings i had recently done

it was an easy and clean way to be in bed but to be doing something at the same time

the process of stitching, mending, joining together and building on what is already there came accidentally but it’s exactly how twenty twenty was supposed to start for me

on a personal level and on a creative level

happy ARTsy wednesday friends!

ARTsy wednesday

the big crafty is this saturday and sunday and Lilian will be participating again like she did last year

she will be selling her original blockprints, prints of original paintings/watercolors and stickers based on original drawings (like the one above)

she did so well last year

hope she does even better this year

happy ARTsy wednesday friends!

a print of an original painting

the artist with more prints of original works

ARTsy wednesday

been slowly adding to my collection of acrylic portraits

i think twenty nineteen will go down as the year when i painted the most faces and that makes me feel happy and accomplished

happy ARTsy wednesday friends!
