Lily and cousin Adelaide in Carova, NC wearing matching dresses that were hand knitted by a family friend.
These little ones are 2 years apart but I’m pretty sure that this summer they became besties and created a bond they will hopefully have forever.

Lily in her bedroom wearing Mr. Potato Head’s glasses back in April.
It’s still something she likes to do every now and again.
In fact, she did it just yesterday. 🙂

Right away I thought of the picture I took of Lily in the pool with her water wings for the first time.
She was so excited to finally have the freedom that she had been longing for so long in the water.
Here is our little fish.
Joining Chelsey over at The Paper Mama with this week’s photo challenge, Parenthood.
Tomorrow being father’s day, I am entering a very recent picture of Will giving Lily a swimming lesson.
Will is one of the most hands-on fathers I have met and has embraced this role of parenthood better than me at times. (i’m ashamed to say but it’s true)
Despite the word “mommy” being the most popular word in the house these days, Lily loves her pai!
“you’re doing it!”
Joining Chelsey at The Paper Mama with this week’s photo challenge, GREEN.
This was a hard one because not only do I take thousands of pictures of Lily but, we are outside surrounded by green on a daily basis.
However, I had to go with the most recent one and with the one that screamed green the loudest.
Here is Lily on a float at a friend’s house on Memorial Day.
Thousands and thousands of pictures is what I have of Lily.
But one shot in particular always stays in my mind.
It was taken last year in West Virginia while Lily and I played on the grass in the afternoon like we did many days while we were there.
To think that Lily didn’t even walk yet…
As she heard the leaves on the trees blowing in the wind, she crawled over and attentively pointed her little finger.
It was a moment where as I watched her, I felt like her senses had been awakened.
I did no editing to this photo because I love how it was naturally captured.
Chelsey at The Paper Mama is the hostess to this challenge, go on over and check it out!
Oh, and check it out, we were a favorite last week with the self portrait challenge.

This week’s challenge: Self portrait
The self portrait could either be by yourself, with your little one, your pet, whatever.
I chose to do mine with Lily because we were having a “moment” in her bedroom and I wanted to document it.
I was teaching her “nose-to-nose”.
I set it on self-timer and it was taken with our Nikon D3100.
It isn’t the clearest of pictures but I love it and the way it came out.

The theme is Blue.
Here is Lily with blue paint on her nose from one of her painting sessions.
And of course a star sticker. 🙂

This week’s challenge: COZY.
Here is a not even 2 month old Lily in West Virginia napping on the giraffe cushion that avo Hayes gave her that Christmas morning.
Just looking at her in this picture, I want to go snuggle up with her. 😉

This week’s challenge: Black and White.
I love this picture of Lily taken in August in West Virginia.
She was listening to the leaves blowing in the wind.
With her little finger pointing up, it’s like she’s saying “listen….”.
It always stops her.
And she always stops me.
