joining Chelsey at The Paper Mama for this week’s challenge “Party Time”
Feet are something that I take pictures of quite often.
Bare feet on hard wood floors, feet sleeping, feet in shoes, my favorite however are sandy feet.
Luckily enough, we live by the beach so I get to take lots of those.
Joining Chelsey with this week’s challenge, Feet.
I’m wearing an eye patch cause I want to be a pirate.
I’m wearing an eye patch cause I want to exercise my left eye.
When I was around 3 years old, I woke up from an afternoon nap cross-eyed. The doctors were not sure why but assumed it was nerves related.
After 2 surgeries on my left eye and 1 on my right eye, my left eye is still a bit cross-eyed.
Being extra tired, excited and nervous all contribute to how cross-eyed it will get.
Not only am I very self conscious of this left eye of mine (hate taking pictures straight on) but, if I cover my right eye, I do not have the same strength or eye sight.
The other night while having some drinks at K’s house, I was telling her all of this and I said “I should wear an eye patch”.
Out of nowhere K pulled one out of her kitchen drawer. Cause you know, everyone has one of those just laying around…
I wore it for the rest of the night and it really helped my eye a lot.
I think I will start wearing an eye patch. (wink. with my left eye)

Obsessing over…. design, fashion and life style blogs
Working on…. painting. it’s been a goal of mine this year to start painting again and i’m happy to say i painted all weekend and completed a body of work
Thinking about…. the positive
Anticipating…. all that is to come this year
Listening to…. the rapture, spoon, the shins, yeah yeah yeahs, muse, the kills
Eating… anything that Will cooks up
Wishing…. it was colder out and that we lived closer to family
This was the second winter Lily got to see and play with snow.
It was funny watching her because she played with snow the way she plays with sand.
She rolled in it and naturally started making snow angels.

Christmas day 2011 was not the usual as far as weather is concerned for West Virginia.
The sky was blue without a cloud in sight, the air was crisp and not freezing, it was perfect for a walk.
After opening all the presents and a big brunch, that is just what we did.
While some napped, we took a long walk to the the meadow.
We walked and walked and once we reached the meadow, Lily just sat down on a fallen tree.
She just sat there with her hands on her lap, quietly. As if she was one with the trees.
Family. About one of the best things in life wouldn’t you say?
I wasn’t always about family. As a teenager I wanted nothing to do with family.
I just didn’t know any better and was being a rebelling teen.
Then in my 20’s I got my senses back and well, family is where it’s at!
On our trip to Portugal this year, I got to spend a lot of time with my family. All of my cousins at that.
We only get to see each other once a year so when we are all together, is always special.
With the exception of my cousin Eugenio, Ana and her daughter Teresinha, all the cousins were present for this picture.
Linking up to Chelsey for this week’s photo challenge: Family.
P.S.- I have come back to edit this post because after I hit “publish” I realized that I did not in fact take this picture. It felt like I did since I got everyone together, forced them to have their picture taken, fixed all the settings on the camera but, Anabela was the one in charge of clicking the button on the camera.
Joining Chelsey over at The Paper Mama with this week’s photo challenge: Fall.
We live in Miami so we don’t really get to experience Fall.
Sure the weather cools off a bit at night, the humidity is not as high but there is no changing of the leaves.
This year when we went to Portugal in October, I was so looking forward to Fall only to have record highs and the longest summer yet.
So, the only bit of Fall that we have had this year was when we were in West Virginia in September.
That’s when this picture was taken.
P.S.- For those of you who are surrounded by beautiful trees changing colors, I’m a bit envious.
