First full dip in the ocean and a floaty too!

Yesterday morning Will, Lily and I were out of the house and on the way to the beach by 9a.m.. We both decided since Lily was feeling better, to go to the beach for a dip.

On the way there, we stopped by a Wings sort of store and picked up a floaty for Lily. We had both discussed that if the water wasn’t too cold, we were going to give Lily her first FULL dip in the ocean.

The beach was perfect! It was still early enough so there weren’t many people there yet (just the way I like it) and it wasn’t too hot yet either.

There were lots of little Portuguese Man O’ War out again and this time I got to get very close to them. They are so cool looking! But don’t touch them!!!

Will blew the floaty up with air and we sat it on the sand close to the water with Lily in it. She loved it!!!!

The floaty is perfect for her. She sits comfortably in it and doesn’t get too much sun while on the beach because the floaty has an umbrella. 🙂 We are going to wait for the ocean to be a bit more still to let Lily float in her floaty.

We played on the sand, Lily got to get her hands in it and have her first taste of sand. We let her get sandy enough that she needed a dip!

We took off her romper and her diaper and in she went.

Both Will and I took turns dipping her in and even though she was so tired and sleepy by that point, I think she was so glad to finally be in the ocean. She has been looking at it and playing by it for months now!

Once out of the water and wrapped in a towel, Lily fell asleep. I have never seen her fall asleep that fast.

She slept the whole walk home and a while longer while at home but when she woke up, she was a refreshed and smiling Lily. 🙂

Here we are at the beach yesterday. Lily wears a romper that was a gift from our friend Rikki and hat both by Zutano. Enjoy the photo montage!

Must have of the day

Will and I saw a little girl at the park wearing these just the other day and we were trying to figure out exactly what they were.

I said they were socks with nubbies.

He said they were shoes.

Well, we were both wrong. They are Slippers with ‘sole’!!!!!!!

I was just browsing through Babyology and I can’t believe I found them.

These Slippers with ‘sole’ from Collegien are made in France but you can get them through Kido Store.

The comfort with socks but with a bit more ‘Sole’ to them? A “Must”!

And guess what? They make them for adults too! 🙂

Sick Lily :(

Yesterday was a bit of a hard day. It started that way first thing in the morning when I woke up at 5:00a.m. and couldn’t get back to sleep.

It was still dark out when I was already having my coffee and trying to write my posts when Lily woke up as well. It’s like she knew I wasn’t sleeping.

We played on the mat like we usually do, went on the balcony and watched the sunrise (not like we usually do), it looked like the beginning of a beautiful day.

Lily had her breakfast, oatmeal cereal with half of a banana and breast milk, like always.

Once Will woke up, he and Lily had some playtime by themselves as well.

At around 9a.m. Lily and I went out for our morning walk. Although the sun was hot already that early in the morning, it felt nice and breezy in the shade. We tried walking in the shade as much as possible.

We looked at flowers, trees, it was a lovely walk.

Half way back home Lily fell asleep. I guess she was tired from waking an hour earlier than she usually does. While I was pushing her on her stroller, I wished that I too could be taking a nap.

Once she woke up from her nap, she had some lunch. Sweet potato, her favorite.

Everything was going well until 3p.m.

I was breastfeeding Lily on the couch and both she and I were starting to take a nap when all this vomit starting coming out of Lily’s mouth.  I had never seen anything like it. She is not even one to spit up a lot.

There was vomit all over the couch, me and Lily.

I quickly got up and checked her over. She was so tired and sleepy but obviously uncomfortable and not feeling well.

I took off her clothes, cleaned her up and was resting with her on our bed when the second round of vomit came. There was now vomit on the bed, me and Lily.

I took her into the bathroom to clean her up once again when I felt her poor little body trying to throw up again. I leaned her over the sink and sure enough….more vomit. 🙁

What to do? What happened? What was making her vomit?

With Lily not feeling well, 2 loads of wash going and me freaking out a bit, Will decided to call avo Joao (he’s a doctor :)).

After speaking with avo Joao and Lily’s pediatrician, we monitored Lily to make sure she wasn’t getting dehydrated.

Once she stopped vomiting, she took a nap on my lap, ate some cereal, breast fed and went to sleep.

She slept all through the night and is back to her normal self this morning. 🙂

We are not sure what it was exactly. Maybe it’s the fat that she’s teething or it could be that she drank too much water. I hate seeing her not feel good. It makes me feel worthless.

Lily is such a good little baby girl. Throughout all her vomiting she didn’t cry once. She is soooooo good.

We are SO happy that she is feeling good again. 🙂

Here is Lily yesterday feeling good before she got sick :(. Lily wears a 2 piece and hat by Old Navy. And some more nature beauties from our walk.

Have a good weekend everybody!!!!

Things we LOVE!

We purchased this Old Navy hat for Lily last year when she was still in my belly.

She’s been wearing it for a while now and we LOVE it!

It’s beautiful colors and pattern are perfect for a little girl to keep well shaded.

She’s almost outgrowing it. 🙁

Here is Lily at the park yesterday keeping well shaded in her Old Navy hat.

YAY! Will is back!!

Will arrived yesterday early afternoon and oh boy, were Lily and I happy to see him!

It was Lily’s nap time when he arrived and he was exhausted as well so, they both took a little nap together.

Later in the afternoon we decided to go to the park instead of the beach (we were both too tired) and had a wonderful time playing on the swings, slide and Clifford.

It’s wonderful having Will back and we look forward to a weekend full of fun with all of us together again.

We wish you all a wonderful weekend!! 🙂

Here are some Will and Lily moments captured at the playground yesterday. Lily wears dress and hat both by Old Navy.

and a SHOUT OUT to…

Today being EARTH day make sure you respect and treasure our MOTHER even more than you already do! 😉

And because it is important to start from the time you are little, here is Lily in December 2009 wearing a “Love our Planet” bodysuit from babyGap and a knitted cardigan that was gift. Lily in January wearing a “Respect your Mother” bodysuit from babyGap. And Lily today on a bed of flowers surrounded by butterflies 😉 wearing a dress by Old Navy.

Things we LOVE!

We LOVE going to the park with our friend Claudia (Sofia’s mom) and Sofia (Lily’s bff).

Lily and Sofia are starting to really know one another and they seem to really enjoy each other when they are together.

They are little nature girls. They love being outside strolling around town, at the park and at the beach. 🙂

They LOVE Mother Earth!

Here they are yesterday at the park both enjoying Clifford and some play time on the blanket. Lily wears dress by Old Navy and leggings by babyGap.
