Got milk?

YES! I do! I got more milk than I know what to do with these days.

Since Lily started eating food, I had to start pumping because otherwise my breasts felt like they were going to burst but also, instead of water, I put my breast milk in her rice cereal…YUMMY!

Before giving birth, my friend Sara lent me her Medela breast pump and let me tell you, it’s a life saver or should I say, a breast saver!

I just ordered more of the Medela Pump&Save breast milk bags from Diapers.com because I filled up every bottle and the few milk bags I had in the house.

It really is true what they say. The more you pump, the more milk you produce. When I first started pumping, I would only get 2oz from each breast. But now…. I get as much as almost 6oz from each one.

Can you say MOOOOOOOOOOOOO? 😉

Things we LOVE!

Seeing a happy Lily at the beach!

We had a wonderful sunday at the beach. It was a perfect day.

Lily dipped her feet in the water, took a 2 hour nap in her tent while listening to the sound of the waves…LOVE it!

We look forward to warmer water so we can really dip Lily in. 😉

Here is a happy Lily at the beach on sunday wearing a Polo jumpsuit that was a gift from Margeaux and hat by Zutano.

A wonderful family weekend!

This weekend was truly an amazing family weekend. The family was all together and the weather was PERFECT!

On saturday Lily and I took Will to the playground since he is always working when we go. Both Lily and Will got to go on the swings. 😉 It was such a relaxing time for Lily on the swing with the light breeze blowing the leaves on the trees that she fell asleep!

Later in the afternoon we met our friends at Zeke’s on Lincoln Rd. Zeke’s is one of our favorite beer places not just because they have $4.00 beers but also because they are so baby friendly!

After Zeke’s, we had dinner at B&B, the new burger place by our house. Lily was so tired that she fell asleep and both Will and I were able to have both hands free to eat dinner.

Lily slept almost 7 hours in a row saturday night into sunday morning so I was able to get some good sleep as well.

When we woke up sunday morning, it was obvious that it was going to be a beach day. We decided we would head out after Lily’s morning nap since she never sleeps that long.

Well, wouldn’t you know it, of all days, we had to wake her up because she had been sleeping for over an hour.

After walking to uncle Darren’s house, we walked over to the Front Porch Cafe where I had some delicious french toast and Lily had some mashed bananas. It was a delicious and much missed breakfast.

We got to the beach at around 2pm, Lily’s nap time. We set up her little tent and took her over by the water so she could dip her toes. Although she was delighted by it all, she was a cranky Lily and she soon fell asleep in her shaded tent.

She slept for 2 hours! That has not happened in a very looooooong time.

While Lily slept, uncle Darren watched over her while Will and I went swimming. The water was chilly but super blue and clear. I swam around for a bit, something I had not done since before giving birth to Lily.

When a happy and rested Lily finally awoke, we hung out for a bit longer and then it was time to head home for warm baths and pajamas.

It was truly an amazing beach sunday. It was a perfect weekend and we all feel rejuvenated, energized and ready to take on a new week.

Oh! We added avocado to Lily’s menu. She loved it! She now eats rice cereal, bananas, sweet potatoes and avocados. She seems to really go bananas for bananas! 😉

Here is Lily on saturday wearing a bodysuit, pants and shoes all by babyGap and hat by Zutano. And on sunday wearing a Polo bodysuit that was a gift from Margeaux and hat by Zutano.

Things we LOVE!

We posted the Winkel as a “Must” not too long ago and since then, we have ordered it from Fat Brain Toys, Lily has been playing with it and now we LOVE it!

It is bright, light, easy for her to grab from all angles and fun to chew on.

Here is a happy Lily and her Winkel (photographed by daddy Will). 🙂 Lily wears a bodysuit by The Children’s Place and overalls that were a gift.

Bananas! And sweet potatoes too.

The rice cereal has been such a success with Lily, we decided to add bananas and sweet potatoes to her menu.

Yesterday and today for breakfast Lily had mashed bananas in her rice cereal. I mix 1oz of breast milk with the rice cereal and then add in 1/4 of a banana and mash it all up together.

She loves it! She ate the whole entire thing.

When Lily and I went to Publix after the playground yesterday, we bought some sweet potatoes, I’m a big fan of baked sweet potatoes.

So when it was Lily’s lunch time, I mashed 1/4 of a baked sweet potato with some breast milk and that too was a big success.

It was so exciting seeing the excitment on her face while tasting something new.

Now if only we could hear those giggles again….

Here is a picture of her sweet potatoes serving and a happy Lily eating them.

Things we LOVE!

Our orchid!

This orchid has been on the balcony now for quite sometime because it stopped blooming.

It was just leaves for quite sometime. Orchids usually only bloom once a year.

Then, all of the sudden, a stem started growing. And soon enough little buds were growing on that stem.

Lily and I go on the balcony every morning and check on it.

We are SO happy to finally see a fully opened orchid on there. 🙂

Here it is, the first opened orchid with many little buds to follow.

Must have of the day

I don’t know how I missed this yesterday but I think I just got so excited with the Slotted Building Discs that I didn’t look much further.

So, today’s “Must have of the day” is a continuation to yesterday’s. Look what else you can do with the discs! You can make mobiles!!!

We’ve been wanting a mobile (hurry up grandma Hayes) and since Will seems to be a fan of the discs, we might be making our own soon.

Made by Joel is a great blog with some wonderful ideas.

These discs are a “MUST”!
