Lily LOVES to be outside and she loves nature.
She loves flowers, the ocean, she LOVES trees and watching their leaves blow in the wind. 🙂
Since Lily seems to be ready for solid food, I think it’s time for us to get a high chair.
It is clean looking, easy to clean and most importantly, it will grow with Lily because the chair itself flips over to accommodate children as they grow.
And…it comes in orange, our color. It’s a “Must”!
Not Lily’s yet but mine trying to get back into shape and getting a daily morning exercise routine going.
I told Will yesterday that I would like to start going for morning power walks like I used to before and during my pregnancy.
So this morning, as he got up with Lily like he usually does, he kicked my butt out of bed. You see, I wanted to stay in bed for another hour sleeping.
I put on my walking clothes and sneakers, grabbed the 3.25lb weights for each hand and headed out the door.
OUCH! It hurt. Everything hurt. My legs, my back, my arms. Whose idea was it to bring the weights? Oh wait, it was mine.
As I walked across the bridge and was surrounded by water, little sail boats and other morning walkers, joggers and bikers, I started to feel pretty good.
This isn’t so bad, I thought.
Then, half way through my walk, I just wanted to drop the weights down anywhere, turn around and go back to bed. It was like the bed was calling me.
It was hard to keep going but I just kept thinking: bikini days are coming, bikini days are coming, bikini days are coming….
I walked my old route and got back home exhausted and all sweaty but feeling good about having done it.
Now let’s see how long I will keep it up. 😉
Here I am after my 1 hour power walk this morning.
We ordered these monkey pajamas from Old Navy for Lily because I like to call her my “Cheeky Monkey”.
We LOVE them!!
They are soft, easy to put on and take off and you can’t beat the print!
We got her size 6-12 months and they are a little big but she has outgrown size 3-6 months in most things.
She is quite the “Cheeky Monkey” in her monkey pajamas. 😉
Here is a happy Lily waking up this morning after sleeping in her monkey pajamas by Old Navy.
While at the supermarket with Lily today, I decided to pick up some Gerber Organic Brown Rice Cereal for Baby. I thought, why not? Let’s try it. I think she is ready.
The box suggests that you mix the cereal with either breast milk (I haven’t pumped so,no), formula (she seems to not like it so, no) or water (can’t hurt). No whole milk until they are around 1 year old.
I filled the bowl with 7-8 tablespoons of cereal, warmed up some water and mixed the 2 together until it was a creamy consistency. Not too runny, not too thick.
I sat Lily in her lounger, put a bib around her neck and gave her the first taste of cereal off the edge of the silver spoon that grandma Hayes gave her for Christmas.
It went down quite smoothly! I dipped the spoon in the bowl and gave her another. She opened her mouth right away when she saw the spoon coming.
She smiled, waved her arms and legs from excitement, YAY! She LOVED it!
She ate it all.
We will continue with the rice cereal for a while as well as breast feeding her and then we will try to mix in some other things like mashed bananas and sweet potatoes.
I am happy that she liked the cereal and is getting ready for food but on the other hand, it just shows me how much bigger she is getting and how my baby is growing up. 🙁
When we went over to our friend Sara’s house, we saw she had one of these Twilight Turtles for her cutie pie son Sam. When we asked her what she thought of it, she told us how wonderful it was and how much even SHE loved it!
Not that we don’t like turtles but, since we are having an owl and other birds themed imaginary room, we think the Twilight Ladybug is a better fit. 😉
Lily is 4 months old today. I can’t believe it. Time has gone by so fast and yet it seems like I was pregnant such a long time ago.
She is now almost 15lbs and measures 25″.
She can turn over from her back to her tummy and gets super frustrated because she wants to crawl but can’t yet.
She has found her feet and is constantly grabbing them, she loves it when she has no socks on because then she can put her toes in her mouth although apparently she didn’t like the way they tasted yesterday. lol
For the most part she is a serious baby except for when she is home with Will and I and she lets loose.
Her pediatrician told us on thursday that she is as aware as a 6 month old. Go Lily!
Oh, and she’s looking more and more like her daddy Will every day.
Here she is on the 7th of every month . I got a little choked up going through the months.
In November, Lily wears a jumpsuit and hat both by babyGap. In December, Lily wears a bodysuit by babyGap. In January, Lily wears diapers by Pampers and fleece booties by Zutano. In February, Lily wears a dress and tights both by Zutano. Today, in March, Lily wears a bodysuit by Lucky Finn, a gift from our friend Debbie.
We have loved them from the beginning but, Lily just found them and now she too cannot get enough of them!
Gotta LOVE those tiny long feet!
Here are Lily’s feet only 3 days old and Lily today playing with her feet wearing her pajamas that were a gift from auntie K.
