Despite the fact that my hair is still falling out like crazy, that my body is still not quite like it once was and that I only got up to go for my morning walk twice, I am feeling much more like myself and much better these days.
We went to the beach the past 2 weekends and let me tell you, it really helped. The sun, the beach air and the salt water do wonders.
It also helps that Lily has really taken to solid food so she sleeps longer during the day and during the night. I don’t feel as tired as I used to.
Last thursday night I got to go to dinner with my old co-workers and it felt wonderful to be and feel like Claudia again. I left after giving Lily her dinner and a bit of breast feeding and it was all good!
I knew that what I was going through wasn’t going to last forever but, I’m sure glad that I acknowledged it, felt it, dealt with it and now it has vanished.
For many of you who know me well, you know that I’m probably one of the most camera happy people you have ever met. I always have a camera on me and I’m not afraid to use it.
Now that I have Lily, I’m constantly taking pictures of her. 100 a day sometimes. Thank goodness for digital cameras.
Lily has always been aware of the camera. She looks at it attentively, and she wants it. She wants this object that is constantly in her face.
But does she think it’s a toy? What does she think it is?
We always show her the picture on the screen and she seems to recognize herself but then all she wants to do is lick it and put it in her mouth just like everything else she sees.
Either way, Lily has become my favorite subject to photograph. I just hope she doesn’t think I’m teasing her with a toy she can’t have. 😉
Here she is in motion trying to grab the camera from me. Picture 1- Lily spots the camera. Picture 2- Lily thinks of a plan to get the camera. Picture 3- Lily decides to make a move for it. Picture 4&5- Lily reaches to grab the camera. Picture 6- Lily thinks: “Really? you won’t let me have it?” Picture 7- Lily has the face of “Seriously mommy, I really want it.”. Lily wears a flower top by Old Navy.
I looked at TONS of bedding when I was “nesting” before I found out that Lily was in fact a Lily. The set I always kept on coming back for was this Skip Hop Mod Dot set. It was great for both genders I thought.
Here is a happy Lily through the months enjoying her Skip Hop bedding. In January wearing a striped shirt that was a gift from aunt Sarah with a jumper from babyGap, In February wearing pajamas that were a gift, and in March wearing monkey and striped pajamas both by Old Navy.
I want Lily to take her time growing up. I want to enjoy her as a baby as long as I can, who knows, there might not be another baby and she might be the only one. I do however get excited when I see arts and crafts projects and can’t wait for days and hours filled with them and Lily!
