Bunny FooFoo

We are back in Beja and have picked up the morning park routine we left off.

Beja’s public park not only has the “tiny house”, playgrounds, ducks, fountains, a carriage ride but it also has a small section with animals such as chickens, roosters, birds, peacocks and…. a rabbit!

Lily loves the song Bunny FooFoo so I guess it was only fitting for her to name the rabbit “Bunny FooFoo”.

I think going to the park to visit Bunny FooFoo is now one of her favorite things to do.

I have posted pictures of Lily during 2 different visits.

The first outfit is from October 13th and the second from October 25th.

As you can see, one is a very summery outfit and the other already fall.

Portugal has been having crazy weather. Never has summer lasted as long as it has this year. It only started getting cool this week.

AND… might I add that it practically went straight into winter (yes I’m complaining, can I not get fall this year!?) since yesterday was cold and raining all day long.

Linking up to Morgan for Small Style.

she often likes to share the bread she won’t feed the ducks with him

An afternoon in Ayamonte

Ayamonte, Spain is the first spanish town we reach coming from Monte Gordo, Portugal.

When I was a young girl, we would drive to Vila Real de Santo Antonio and then take the ferry.

In the past decade, a bridge has been built and you can now just drive over to Spain.

After a lunch in Portugal, my dad took us all to Ayamonte where there is a small zoo at their public park.

Needless to say, Lily had a good time.

A scenic drive

How is everyone doing this fine monday?

I hope that you east coasters were all safe from Irene, all we got was some rain here in West Virginia.

Yesterday, Will, Lily and I took a scenic drive.

We stopped off in Marlington where we ate some deep fried southern food at the Greenbrier, we went to the Cranberry visitor’s center and checked out all the wild life that lives around here and we went on a nature walk.

It was a chill sunday.

 70 and perfect

Jungle Island

When I was around 5 years old, my mom took me to the zoo in Lisboa.

That night, I had the worst nightmares!

I dreamt that all the animals had broken free and were running wild, all the snakes were slithering all over my body, the gazelles were jumping over me, the elephants and lions were running… it’s a dream that I can still visually remember.

I have kept away from zoos or anything like them since then, even when I lived in San Diego and had one of the best zoos near me.

On saturday, auntie K got us some free VIP passes to Jungle Island so, we couldn’t pass them up. (thank you K!)

Despite not being a fan of seeing animals in cages, it was wonderful to be able to show Lily animals she has only been able to see in books.

The birds were her favorites, the monkeys and the pink flamingos were my favorites. 🙂 (I finally got to see pink flamingos after being in Florida for almost 10 years!)

Happy monday everyone, hope you all have a great week!
