Every day after Lily has lunch, at around 1pm, we have quiet time.
I put Lily in her crib, hand her some books (usually of her choice) and she hangs out in there for at least 2 hours.
She reads her books and plays with her stuffed animals and dolls.
Every once in a while (maybe once a week?) she will actually fall asleep.
On thursday she did. (and hopefully she will today also)
Happy saturday everyone. 🙂
For the past months Lily has been breast feeding only 3 times a day.
In the very early morning when she wakes up which usually makes her fall back asleep for another hour or so, in the afternoon before her nap and at night before she goes to sleep.
Through the months, while she breast feeds, she has slowly weaned herself off.
While she is breast feeding, she feeds less and less each time.
Last night, as quickly as she latched on, she latched off and sat up wanting to just be put in her crib.
I get it, she is showing me she is no longer a baby. 🙁
She no longer needs to be breast fed.
I am thankful that I got to breast feed for 1 year.
I am thankful that my body naturally produced enough milk to naturally feed my baby. No formula ever needed. (I’m not knocking formula)
Goodbye breast feeding. It was wonderful while it lasted!
Here are some sweet breast feeding moments.

November 07 2009. the day Lily was born
Lily is still only napping once a day.
However, she has been napping for 2.5 hours at a time as opposed to the 45-60 minutes like before. (hope I’m not jinxing myself with this)
I nap with her.
She sleeps for 1 hour in her crib. Seriously, 1 hour on the dot. I’m stunned every time.
And then when she wakes, she and I lounge on our bed and she falls back asleep for another hour and a half.
I’m not so thrilled to have to nap every day (seriously, I’m not) but, I’m not complaining.
She wakes up so much happier when she sleeps longer. 🙂
Enjoy your weekend everyone!!

how she fell asleep yesterday
Uncle Darren met up with us at South Point on sunday.
The minute Lily was held by uncle Darren, she fell asleep in his arms.
I’m not even exaggerating. It took less than 5 minutes for her to fall asleep!
First she would cry at the very sight of him, now she falls asleep. (I think he changed his cologne)
Uncle Darren has quite the effect in Lily.
Last night when I was in bed trying to fall asleep, this song kept playing in my head.
I have always loved it and hadn’t listened to it in a while.
So here it is!
Thank you Bjork. 🙂
