Well, the time has come for us to leave this magical place in West Virginia.
Early tomorrow morning we are headed for the beach in the outer banks to have one more week all together.
From the first time I visited West Virginia back in 2007 I felt at home. It was like I had grown up here.
Not only did Will’s family welcome me with open arms but so did their friends, the mountains, the trees and this fresh mountain air.
There are good people here. Good, good people. And the love in this family is like no other love I have felt before.
It won’t be long until we are all together here again. After all, Christmas is right around the corner.
I leave you with this last WV post with an amazing sunset and full moonrise from a magical and secret place.
Have a great weekend everyone!
All photos by Sarah, Will and I.
Yesterday the girls had many of firsts.
From swimming in the river (Adelaide’s first time), to roasting their own hotdogs and s’mores on an outside fire, these two little girls just kept on going all day long.
I seriously don’t know what’s better sometimes, to do something for the first time or to watch someone do something for the first time.
All of us adults had such joy watching Lily and Adelaide’s little faces as they experienced things for their first time.
By the time their little heads hit their pillows (at regular bed time), they had had a wonder full day. 🙂
a morning walk
We got to our destination in West Virginia at 5pm yesterday.
We had a great drive, I will try to do a post on that later on during the week.
Lily is already having the time of her life and our vacation just started.
It is a bright and sunny day now but it started as a rainy one here on the mountain and I couldn’t be happier.
Love having the windows open and smelling the fresh mountain air and listen to nothing but the sound of the rain. 🙂
trees. lots and lots of trees
Yesterday morning Lily and I went to the park.
We were so busy with tia Sarah when she was here that we hadn’t been there in over a week.
We got to see all of our friends and needless to say, Lily, Sofia and Dylan had the biggest smiles on their little faces when they all saw each other. 🙂
Oh, where can I start?
I had such a great mother’s day yesterday.
We started with a brunch at home at 11am which consisted of bloody maries, pancakes, sausage, bagels and fritatta.
We all hung out on the balcony while Lily took her afternoon nap (2 hours) and then headed over to Jimbo’s.
Yup, I chose to go to Jimbo’s for mother’s day.
I don’t need a fancy place, I would much rather hang out somewhere where 4 beers and a big chunk of smoked tuna costs $16.00.
I had not been to Jimbo’s since the late 90’s and well, nothing much has changed other than the fact that there were a couple more trailers, house boats and people hanging out.
We drank beer, ate smoked fish, played bocci ball and took turns taking pictures.
I couldn’t have asked for a better day.
Hope all you mamas had a great mother’s day also.
Yesterday we went to Monty’s so tia Sarah could get some king crab’s legs.
I wore a F21 dress I got the other day.
It was the first long dress I bought since I was pregnant.
I wore so many long dresses then that I haven’t had the urge to put one on since.
I forgot how comfortable they are!
How was your cinco de Mayo yesterday?
I don’t know why but I have celebrated and love celebrating this holiday for quite sometime.
We ate Mexican food for lunch and then later on went to El Rancho Grande to check out what was going on.
We ended up at Zeke’s with just regular $4.00 beer. 😉
It’s friday… have a great weekend everyone!
