avo Ricardo

An afternoon in Ayamonte

Ayamonte, Spain is the first spanish town we reach coming from Monte Gordo, Portugal.

When I was a young girl, we would drive to Vila Real de Santo Antonio and then take the ferry.

In the past decade, a bridge has been built and you can now just drive over to Spain.

After a lunch in Portugal, my dad took us all to Ayamonte where there is a small zoo at their public park.

Needless to say, Lily had a good time.

around here

We have been in Beja Portugal for 1 week today.

It was a week filled with adjustments and family.

Lily has been sleeping all through the night and wakes even later than usual (like 9-10am!).

She has still to really warm up to her avo Carmo and avo Ricardo but she is getting there.

She is ALL about mommy lately but, hey… her pai is far away so, patience.

Aside from spending a lot of family time together, we have been going to different parks and walks around town.

I wish the weather was cooler but, it feels wonderful to walk on these cobble stoned streets under different trees while looking at really old architecture.

Here are some delightful moments and happy full moon!

P.S.- I’m not sure how much traveling I will do this time around so, if you would like to see Portugal, visit some of last year’s posts. Go here, here, here, here and here.

The fishermen’s grand-daughter

It shows that both of Lily’s avos are fishermen at heart because as you can see from the pictures below, she loves fish.

Hopefully her love for fish will continue and she won’t get too weirded out about what happens to the fish afterward so she can go fishing with both avos when she gets bigger.

Sorry to not have a mamas & their babies ready for you this week. We are only here in Miami for a week before we head to Portugal on monday and well, things are a bit hectic.

I also want to ask you to please head over to Happy Chaos and take time to sign the petition to bring Sumyra and Rayhana home.

Sundays are my favorite!

I love sundays.

We lounged around the house in the morning and watched cartoons.

Will made us pancakes.

We video chatted with avo Carmo and avo Ricardo.

We went on a bike ride to the park and to SouthPointe.

Had lunch on the balcony.

Took a family nap.

Read books, played and watched the Grammy’s.

Sundays are my favorite! 🙂

P.S.- And can I just add that yesterday was absolutely gorgeous here in Miami? GORGEOUS!!

Rainy day videos

It was raining pretty much all day yesterday.

Lily and I watched some of our home videos.

Last week I was so excited to show her the “country boy” video.

That was her favorite music toy while in West Virginia and instead of busting out dancing like I thought she would, she just stood there looking at the screen looking all sad like she missed West Virginia and wished she could be there.

It broke my heart!! (I actually had tears in my eyes)

However, now when I show her the video, she dances. 🙂

So, here is some “country boy” for you, some Portuguese folk singing from my brother’s birthday party and Lily feeding avo Ricardo (it was the first time she fed anyone).
