Mommy Style Update

Inspired by the beautiful flower prints they are showing for Spring/Summer this year, I decided to bust out an old little jacket of mine.

I purchased this jacket back in 2004, wore it to death until about 2006 and it had been sitting in my closet “resting” until last night.

I donate clothes a lot but, for some reason, I always hold onto my jackets.

Last night I had a mommy date with Claudia and Barbara.

We have known one another for almost a year, always do things together with Lily, Sofia and Dylan but had never done anything without the kiddos.

Claudia’s birthday is tomorrow so we decided to go out and have some dinner and drinks.

We had a lovely time. (so lovely there are no pictures because we were too busy talking and having fun!)

Happy saturday everyone!!

The jean gang

Yesterday we went to Siena’s first birthday party.

Siena is part of the park gang.

After Sofia turns 1 in December, they will all be 1.

I can’t believe it.

Just not too long ago they were babies!

Anyway, we had a great time at the party and I thought it was so cute that Lily, Sofia and Dylan all showed up in jeans!! 🙂

How much is too much?

Lately I have been wondering how much is too much and what is not enough when it comes to getting Lily involved into baby activities.

Yesterday we were invited by Barbara and Dylan to go to a Movers & Shakers class at the Temple Beth Sholom.

They offer 1 free class to see if you like it and are interested in signing up.

The class was wonderful! I really liked the way Miss Rachel (once a teacher) conducted the class.

It was a wonderful room to begin with, with lots of wonderful toys for all the little ones to play with, and they got to do a little bit of everything.

There was play time, music and singing time, arts and crafts time, snack time, learning time…

It was 1 hour and 15 minutes of great learning fun.

As wonderful as it was, I’m not sure if I want to sign Lily up just yet.

I mean, we already go to the library every wednesday. We play at the park with our friends just about EVERY afternoon. We go to the beach thursday mornings also with our friends. We have had art in the park twice and look forward to the next one.

I feel like Lily gets plenty of stimulation from being with other children.

We also do a lot of one-on-one with her at home as far as reading, playing and learning is concerned.

How much is too much?

Shouldn’t I be saving some of this running around for when Lily gets older and really gets involved into things?

I would love to hear from some of you moms out there who have had or have kids and have some input on this topic.

Do you feel like I do?

What do you do with your little one?

Things we LOVE!

Our friend Kris who we met at the park with her two little cuties Taylor and Sebastian invited us to their pool yesterday afternoon.

She lives right down the street and has decided to make tuesday afternoons pool time for Sebastian and his little friends. We LOVE that idea!!

Along with Lily and I, Dylan was also there with his mommy, Barbara.

We had a wonderful time swimming and playing and are already looking forward to next tuesday.

(We were sad that our friends Claudia and Sofia weren’t there but hopefully they will make it next week along with some other mommies and their babies. :))
