Happy 5 months Lily!

Lily is 5 months old today. Already? That was fast!

She weighs just about 16lbs and measures 25″.

Her mornings are spent at the park and the afternoons at the beach. She loves the swings and the ocean.

Lily can now easily roll over from her stomach to her back and from her back to her stomach. She is still trying hard to crawl and although she does move around, she has not yet mastered the art of crawling.

As far as food is concerned, she now eats rice cereal, bananas, apple and pear sauce, sweet potatoes, butternut squash, avocados, carrots, mangoes, broccoli, zucchini, peas and we will be trying tilapia today as a 5 month old gift. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Lily’s sleeping patterns have been very consistent lately. She usually takes 2-3 naps during the day and she has for the most part been sleeping through the night, from 8pm until 5am. When she wakes at 5am, I bring her into bed with Will and I, I breast feed her and sleeps until 7-8am with us.

She smiles more and more each day that passes and we even got giggles twice yesterday. Something that we had not heard since she giggled for the first time. Lily is also quite vocal these days baby-talking up a storm!

Lily is a wonderful baby and we are so happy to have her in our lives. (tears of the purest happiness) ๐Ÿ™‚

P.S.- As much as she has grown and changed, some things never do. She still rests her hand on my chest between my breasts when I breast feed her. It’s the sweetest thing.

Here are Lily’s little toes 3 days after she was born and below that, Lily’s toes last week. Lily’s hand resting on my chest while being breastfed also 3 days after her birth day. And, a 5 month old Lily today playing in her crib wearing babyGap pajamas that were a gift from uncle Darren.

Happy Easter!

We have had a wonderful family weekend so far.

Great day at the beach yesterday even though it was more crowded than usual due to the holiday and Spring break.

We put Lily in her Kushies swim diaper and she was in the water more than before. She looked so cute and loved sitting along the shore watching the waves roll in.

There were Portuguese men o’ war (jelly fish) everywhere so we had to be careful because they were washing up right by where Lily was sitting.

We must have tired Lily like never before because she slept for 12 hours straight from 7p.m. until 7a.m. this morning.

Today we are having a lazy Easter sunday.

We woke up late, Lily went for a short bike ride with daddy Will on the Bjorn and we had a wonderful brunch on the balcony.

Lily is now taking her first nap of the day and when she wakes, we will be going to the park.

HAPPY EASTER!!

Here we are on the beach yesterday in our beach Easter bonnets. ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Lily wears a romper by Old Navy and hat by Zutano). Lily sitting waterside wearing her Kushies and Zutano hat. A Portuguese man o’war. And a happy sunshine Lily! And today bike riding with daddy Will wearing her Old Navy pajamas and sitting pretty on the couch wearing her Easter dress by OldNavy.

Things we LOVE!

We LOVE the Matthew Williamson for H&M tapestry we bought at H&M in Lisbon last year when we went to Portugal.

I was almost 5 months pregnant with Lily then but when I saw it, I fell in love with its colors and print. I thought about how perfect it would be for a baby to have at the beach.

Well, little did I know that it has become just that. Perfect!

It’s light enough that it folds into almost nothing so it has become a permanent item in the diaper bag. We open it up and enjoy it just about anywhere. At the park, beach, backyards…LOVE it!

Here are some of the wonderful moments we have had on our Matthew Williamson for H&M tapestry.

Our little weekend getaway

We had a wonderful time visiting our friends Eric and Nicole this weekend.

It was 9a.m. on saturday when we left Miami. We had initially planned for 8a.m. but, one hour late is not bad these days. We packed small bags for all of us and some of Lily’s favorite toys and food and we hit the road.

The car ride was smooth, Lily didn’t even have any of her “runny” accidents. In the past she has made it a tradition to have an accident right as soon as we got on the road. But then again, she has been eating solids so her poop is now solid. (TMI?)

Lily has gotten quite used to the car seat. I think she would be even better if we drove more, but it is not that often that we ride in the car.

Feeding Lily during car trips has also gotten much easier since all we have to do now is get the packed food from the bag and feed her. No more crazy breast feeding moves in the car or stops.

Once we arrived in Bradenton, we checked into our hotel and then it was off to see Eric and Nicole. They are expecting their first baby. Nicole looks great!

Soon after we arrived, we all went over to De Soto Park where we walked along the water surrounded by nature. It felt good to be out of the car and breathing the ocean air.

Once back at the house, (more…)

Live Simply

After finding today’s “Must have of the day”, I was inspired to use the “Live simply” message on the t-shirt for today’s post.

It has been just that here lately. “Eat, sleep, play: It’s a live simply life for seals”ร‚ย  and it has been a live simply life here for us Eilers.

This week has gone by smoothly and without effort.

Mornings at the park. Good food throughout the day. Late afternoons at the beach. Time spent with good friends. (With lots of good fashion also. ;))

What more could we ask for? Life is good. Even better when it’s simple.

We are going to Tampa tomorrow to see our friends Eric and Nicole who are expecting their first baby. We are so excited for them! ๐Ÿ™‚

We wish you all a wonderful weekend and we shall return with lots of pictures to share with you!

Here is a picture recap of our wonderful weekend. (more…)

Wonderful weekends at the beach!

I know I have posted LOVE beach posts but, we really LOVE the beach.

Now that the days are longer and are getting warmer, we go to the beach every weekend and during the week, we go late in the afternoon.

Lily LOVES the beach. Yesterdayร‚ย  when her little feet touched the sand, she started foot stepping and had the biggest smile on her face.

So simple but yet so wonderful. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Here is Lily at the beach on saturday wearing a romper and hat by Old Navy and cardigan by babyGap. And yesterday wearing a t-shirt by Zutano and leggings by babyGap.
