Wednesday morning instead of going to the library as usual, we went to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden for a free kids performance.
Fantasy cooking school consisted of 3 actors playing different characters and even though it was complete silliness for 1 hour, Lily and all her little friends seemed to have enjoyed their first piece of live theater.
Afterwards we enjoyed the new grounds and a little picnic.
Here are some fun pictures, happy friday everyone!
The weather here yesterday got no complaints from me.
It was in the 60’s just how I like it and I only hope it stays like that for a while. (wishful thinking on my part. always)
Will, Lily and I went on a long bike ride and we also stopped by the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Will hadn’t seen it since the renovation.
So, the weather was great, the bike ride and the garden were fun, blah, blah, blah. Whatever. What I would like to talk about on here today is jeans.
Skinny, high waisted jeans at that.
I found the perfect pair and they didn’t cost more than $100.00. Heck, they didn’t cost more than $60.00!
The days of me spending $200.00 on jeans have been over for a while. Not only do I no longer work retail therefore don’t get the great discount but we are also a family of 3 on 1 paycheck.
So, goodbye 7for all mankind, Joe’s, AG, Diesel.
I had not purchased a pair of jeans since before I got pregnant with Lily. Not only has my body changed in the 3 years but I was also sick of the few jeans I had.
I tried Gap, Urban Outfitters, F21. None of their jeans fit me right.
Then I decided to go to Levi’s and try a few pair there. I knew just what I wanted. I wanted high waisted, regular blue denim with not a whole lot of stretch. Preferably no stretch.
I tried a bunch of women’s jeans and none of them fit the way I wanted them to fit.
So, I told the sales person I wasn’t opposed to men’s jeans. I wore men’s 501’s all through high school.
He brought me a pair of 510 super skinny men’s jeans and as soon as I put them on, it was like I heard angels singing in the fitting room.
Bingo! Perfect! Just what I had been looking for.
Good old denim that feels and looks like denim. High waisted just right. 30″ inseam so they hit at the ankle just like I wanted.
The only thing that was weird is that in men’s jeans you have to go up sizes. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Weird.
Whatever size, I don’t care. 510 men’s super skinny, I love you!
What about you ladies? Do you have a jean you just love and live by?

Yesterday we spent the morning at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden with our friends Zura and Lien.
Despite all the mosquitoes that tried to eat all 4 of us up, there was still enough splendor for us to feast our eyes on and keep us there for a while.

We had an egg hunt for the kids at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden yesterday.
Since we didn’t want to be in the midst of huge crowds, we decided to have our very own private egg hunt and what better place than our very own botanical garden.
Lily was so excited and she totally got into looking for the eggs and putting them into her little basket.
She wasn’t the only one, I think all of the kids enjoyed themselves.
It was a long and exhausting weekend (Lily hasn’t napped for the last 3 days) that started on friday but really, we had a wonderful time with all of our friends.
Happy monday everyone!
We couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend the day yesterday. (you will see by ALL the pics)
The Fairchild Botanical Garden was free admission and that is exactly where we spent the whole day.
Surrounded by the most beautiful nature all around.
There were food trucks, art/craft tables for kids, a Japanese wishing tree, we rolled on the grass, smelled the flowers, hugged the trees and Lily even got to drum in her very first drum circle.
Happy Earth day mother Earth!
I met Zura and Lien at the Miami Beach Library for story telling time almost 1 year ago.
We started talking, hit it off and made plans for future outings right away.
Whenever we get together, I’m guaranteed a good time.
Zura and I share common interests in art, movies, nature, photography (Zura is a great photographer).
She is a Mexican soul sister. 😉
Yesterday morning Lily and I met up with Zura and Lien at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.
We checked out the new sculpture, sat on the grass, talked, had some snacks, walked around the grounds, looked at all the beautiful flowers.
It was the perfect way to end the week and start the weekend.
Hope you are all having a great weekend so far.
Yesterday morning we had made plans to go to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden with Max and his mom who is here visiting from Italy.
When we get there, it was closed.
I guess they close on mondays, my bad.
We still had a great time walking around the Memorial and around the Botanical grounds.
It had been a while since Lily had a painting session with friends.
So, I got my mommy friends and their kiddos together and we had a lovely morning at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather. 🙂
P.S. Let me know if you notice any difference in my pictures. Will surprised me with a Nikon 3100 (thanks Will and thanks tax return!). I’m still learning how to use it but having tons of fun while doing so.
