before Lily and i left on our costa rica adventure, we had a little pool bbq celebration for our dear DD
This weekend was truly an amazing family weekend. The family was all together and the weather was PERFECT!
On saturday Lily and I took Will to the playground since he is always working when we go. Both Lily and Will got to go on the swings. 😉 It was such a relaxing time for Lily on the swing with the light breeze blowing the leaves on the trees that she fell asleep!
Later in the afternoon we met our friends at Zeke’s on Lincoln Rd. Zeke’s is one of our favorite beer places not just because they have $4.00 beers but also because they are so baby friendly!
After Zeke’s, we had dinner at B&B, the new burger place by our house. Lily was so tired that she fell asleep and both Will and I were able to have both hands free to eat dinner.
Lily slept almost 7 hours in a row saturday night into sunday morning so I was able to get some good sleep as well.
When we woke up sunday morning, it was obvious that it was going to be a beach day. We decided we would head out after Lily’s morning nap since she never sleeps that long.
Well, wouldn’t you know it, of all days, we had to wake her up because she had been sleeping for over an hour.
After walking to uncle Darren’s house, we walked over to the Front Porch Cafe where I had some delicious french toast and Lily had some mashed bananas. It was a delicious and much missed breakfast.
We got to the beach at around 2pm, Lily’s nap time. We set up her little tent and took her over by the water so she could dip her toes. Although she was delighted by it all, she was a cranky Lily and she soon fell asleep in her shaded tent.
She slept for 2 hours! That has not happened in a very looooooong time.
While Lily slept, uncle Darren watched over her while Will and I went swimming. The water was chilly but super blue and clear. I swam around for a bit, something I had not done since before giving birth to Lily.
When a happy and rested Lily finally awoke, we hung out for a bit longer and then it was time to head home for warm baths and pajamas.
It was truly an amazing beach sunday. It was a perfect weekend and we all feel rejuvenated, energized and ready to take on a new week.
Oh! We added avocado to Lily’s menu. She loved it! She now eats rice cereal, bananas, sweet potatoes and avocados. She seems to really go bananas for bananas! 😉
The Bloom lounger is where Lily…well, lounges.
It’s a curved, single-piece frame with cosy comfort seat that comes in 9 different colors (again we chose orange :)). It’s perfect for contemporary living spaces.
We have been putting her in it since the day she received it. It’s quite funny seeing her grow in it. She used to be SO little in there.
Here she is lounging in her Bloom not even a full day old wearing a one-piece and hat by The Children’s Place and then just the beginning of this month wearing a bodysuit by Old Navy, pants by babyGap and Rosies socks by Trumpette.
Since we slept at uncle Darren’s house last night and will again for the next 2 nights, I thought about how adaptable of a baby Lily is.
She is not even 3 months old and spent almost half of her life at her grandparents in West Virginia, has stayed at 2 hotels for 3 nights, went to Morgantown and slept over at her cousin Adelaide’s house for 2 nights, and now here we are at uncle Darren’s house for 3 nights.
For the most part she just chills during the day and at night sleeps relatively well.
I do however make sure that I always have a few of her toys and definitely her blankets. This way, she won’t feel like she is in a completely strange place.
Adaptability is something I think everyone should have. If you adapt well, most likely you make a good traveler. And traveling, I feel, is the best thing for someone’s growth and we LOVE to travel!
