ARTsy wednesday

bloody mary

by Lilian

la llorona

in Latin American folklore, la llorona is a ghost who roams waterfront areas mourning her drowned children

the legend has a wide variety of details and versions

in a typical version of the legend, a beautiful woman named Maria marries a rich ranchero with whom she bears two children

one day, Maria sees her husband with another woman and in a fit of blind rage, she drowns their children in a river, which she immediately regrets

unable to save them and consumed by guilt, she drowns herself as well but is unable to enter the afterlife without her children

ARTsy wednesday

on the weeks when i have the school pod here, while the girls are busy with school work upstairs in the “school room”, i try to keep myself busy downstairs

while they are here, i am here in the house as well

from 8am until 3pm

most of the time i keep myself busy by making rainbow makers and restocking my etsy shop however, lately i have been busy creating smaller art pieces

i am trying to find ways to be financially independent once again

something i always was but have not been for the past 11 years

slowly but surely, right?

ARTsy wednesday

wow! friends, the last artsy wednesday post was… well, june of this year but, the one before that was may of twenty eighteen!

do you remember long ago when they were a weekly thing?

anyway, it was rainy and gloomy yesterday so i decided to stay in pajamas and doodle a little

it had been a very very long time and it felt great once i got passed the nervous stage of trying to remember how to draw again

it always feels good to turn a blank piece of paper/canvas into something

happy ARTsy wednesday friends!
