Oracao, the morning song

Have you guys heard of A banda mais bonita da cidade? (the prettiest band in the city?)

Our friend Zura posted their video for their song Oracao on Facebook not too long ago and Will is obsessed!!

Not only is he obsessed, but he has gotten Lily obsessed.

It’s basically become the morning song around here.

It goes like this:

Meu amor essa é a última oração (my love this is the last prayer)
Pra salvar seu coração (to save your heart)
Coração não é tão simples quanto pensa (heart is not as simple as you think)
Nele cabe o que não cabe na despensa (in it fits what doesn’t fit in the pantry)

Cabe o meu amor! (fits my love)
Cabem três vidas inteiras (fits three whole lives)
Cabe uma penteadeira (fits a dresser)
Cabe nós dois (fits us two)

Cabe até o meu amor, essa é a última oração (it even fits my love, this is the last prayer)
Pra salvar seu coração (to save your heart)
Coração não é tão simples quanto pensa (heart is not as simple as you think)
Nele cabe o que não cabe na despensa (in it fits what doesn’t fit in the pantry)

Cabe o meu amor!
Cabem três vidas inteiras
Cabe uma penteadeira
Cabe nós dois

Cabe até o meu amor, essa é a última oração
Pra salvar seu coração
Coração não é tão simples quanto pensa
Nele cabe o que não cabe na despensa

Cabe o meu amor!
Cabem três vidas inteiras
Cabe uma penteadeira
Cabe essa oração (in it fits this prayer)

I must admit, the video (and the song) is pretty awesome!

Mamas & their babies

I met Margaret in NYC in 2003 when we were both working for Me&Ro.

Right away I could tell that she was a force to be reckoned with.

I left NYC in 2004 and lost touch with her however, we have been recently reconnected through Facebook.

Margaret is now married, has 2 beautiful daughters of her own, a stepson and works full time.

Before taking a new position as an art director, Margaret had her own successful business.

She also has Tigering, her great blog whose name is so suiting since she is a tiger!

My 20 year high school reunion is coming up in November. (Midland Park High School Graduating Class of 1991)

20 years! (yikes! I’m getting old)

Seriously, time flew.

I cannot help but feel a bit of resentment towards Facebook.

As much as I’m thankful that I’m friends with most of my class mates on Facebook (we were a small class of around 104), I feel like the mystery and the magic of high school reunions is taken away by it a bit.

I basically see all of my class mates on a daily basis now.

Some of them I interact with, some not so much but either way, I know what everyone looks like and what they are up to.

So, booooooooooooo Facebook. Booooooooooooooooo!

here i am at my high school graduation party. just your average crazy and wild 18 year old 😉

#2?

NO, this is not a pregnancy announcement!!

Lately I have friends say to me: “Lily’s getting big! It’s time for the second one, no?”

And when I posted on Facebook that I was sick, “BABY?” was the most asked question as well.

Well, Will and I are not planning on having another baby until we are really settled elsewhere.

We are trying to move from Miami to Raleigh into a house where we can ALL have more room and also easily accommodate friends and family when they visit.

Biologically ticking, I mean speaking… NOW would be ideal but NOW isn’t going to happen.

So, until then I am enjoying #1, LILY!

Have a great weekend everyone!

P.S.- Thank you for all the get well wishes. I’m feeling a lot better. 🙂

what’s with my hair? i have NO idea!

100!

YAY! We finally made it to 100 followers through facebook.

Thanks uncle Marvie for becoming our 100th follower! 🙂

He was forced to really, I kept on sending him invites to follow. LOL

And thanks to George (Sofia’s daddy) also for becoming our 101 follower.

Such love and support. 🙂

Thank you everyone!!

Thankful on Thanksgiving

On this Thanksgiving (and every day really) there is so much that I am truly so thankful for.

Here is a short and sweet little list.

I am thankful for Will. He is the best husband, my best friend, and such a wonderful father. He always talks me into reason the right way. I’m not easy. I can be loca sometimes. 😉

I am thankful for my blue eyed cheeky-cheeky Lily. I would have never known this kind of crazy, unconditional mad love if it wasn’t for her. (and Will also)

I am thankful for my family. When I say family, I mean my blood family and the family I married into. I love you all so much and am ever so fortunate to have you all in my life.

I am thankful for the wonderful friends I have. Some are close, many are far but nonetheless, you are all so supportive and full of love.

I am thankful for our good health.

I am thankful that I get to be a stay at home mom to Lily, to watch her grow and not miss a second of it. (thank you Will!)

I am thankful for the roof over our heads. Although I get frustrated with our living situation many times, I am completely aware that there are many who don’t have a roof over their heads.

I am thankful for the food on our table.

I am thankful to this blog which has given me the opportunity to share my experiences and meet so many other moms who I would have not had a chance to meet. What a great support system!

And although silly, I am thankful for Facebook. It helps me keep in touch with family, friends that live close and far and reconnect with long lost friends.

I told you I would make it short and sweet. (time to eat!)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Lily last year on Thanksgiving. she was only 19 days old. what a difference 1 year makes!
