A bike ride with birds and street food

It was such a beautiful afternoon out yesterday that Will and I decided to go on a family bike ride to the beach.

While riding, we saw all these seagulls going crazy over a bag of fritos that two guys were crinkling.

Of course we had to stop and let Lily out because she is crazy for birds.

It was awesome!

There were so many and they were flying so low.

Ocean Drive was having their Deco Walk Fair so we walked around and got some yummy street food for dinner.

It was a fun and spontaneous friday night!

Today Will has taken Lily out for the day and I’m going to attempt to paint. (I’m saying attempt because I’m scared that I won’t know how to paint since it has been 2 years)

Happy saturday everyone!!

House dreaming

Every time I receive the West Elm catalog in the mail, I drool over its pages.

Not over the furniture necessarily but over the layouts, the space, the light, the space, the space, the space…

Will and I have been wanting to live in a house for quite sometime now.

It’s getting closer. πŸ™‚ (changes to come in this new year of 2011)

Some videos

I wanted to upload these videos while we were in West Virginia but the internet was so slow there, I couldn’t.

Pictures are great but every once in a while it’s nice to have videos.

Specially for those far away family members who are keeping up with the blog.

Like avo Ricardo, tio Ricky and prima Ana. πŸ˜‰

So, here is a video of Lily walking in the snow, Lily sledding, Lily with some of her favorite  music toys in WV AND Will and Lily with Titus singing along to the harmonica (a favorite!).

Enjoy! πŸ™‚

A magical white Christmas

Christmas was in one word, MAGICAL!

There was eating, drinking, sledding, singing, dancing, napping, movie watching…

We were all together as a family having the most magical white Christmas.

Everyone got lots of wonderful gifts but, the best gift of all was for all of us to be able to be together.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas as well! πŸ™‚

Here are some (a lot) of pictures of Christmas eve and Christmas day.

Lazy family day

Yesterday was by far one of the laziest family days we have had in a long time.

I know that many of you were out and about shopping black friday deals however, we stayed in our pajamas and did not leave the house ALL day.

We ate, ate, watched tv, ate, napped, ate, ate, watched tv, slept.

It was wonderful!!

Thanksgiving

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving yesterday.

Despite us not being with family and having some dear friends away, we had a great holiday.

We collaborated with our next door neighbors.

He’s a chef so he cooked 2 turkeys, mashed potatoes, broccoli, baked fresh organic bread.

I made the stuffing Portuguese style this year (it’s called migas in Portuguese which is basically fried stuffing) as well as organic cranberry sauce.

It was my first time making the stuffing this way.

As a child, I watched my great grand mother make it at least once a week.

It turned out awesome!

Lily enjoyed herself by playing with all the adults and cat at the party and eating all the delicious food.

Happy black friday everyone! Happy shopping and have a great weekend!

Thankful on Thanksgiving

On this Thanksgiving (and every day really) there is so much that I am truly so thankful for.

Here is a short and sweet little list.

I am thankful for Will. He is the best husband, my best friend, and such a wonderful father. He always talks me into reason the right way. I’m not easy. I can be loca sometimes. πŸ˜‰

I am thankful for my blue eyed cheeky-cheeky Lily. I would have never known this kind of crazy, unconditional mad love if it wasn’t for her. (and Will also)

I am thankful for my family. When I say family, I mean my blood family and the family I married into. I love you all so much and am ever so fortunate to have you all in my life.

I am thankful for the wonderful friends I have. Some are close, many are far but nonetheless, you are all so supportive and full of love.

I am thankful for our good health.

I am thankful that I get to be a stay at home mom to Lily, to watch her grow and not miss a second of it. (thank you Will!)

I am thankful for the roof over our heads. Although I get frustrated with our living situation many times, I am completely aware that there are many who don’t have a roof over their heads.

I am thankful for the food on our table.

I am thankful to this blog which has given me the opportunity to share my experiences and meet so many other moms who I would have not had a chance to meet. What a great support system!

And although silly, I am thankful for Facebook. It helps me keep in touch with family, friends that live close and far and reconnect with long lost friends.

I told you I would make it short and sweet. (time to eat!)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Lily last year on Thanksgiving. she was only 19 days old. what a difference 1 year makes!
