After our park date yesterday all of us mommies and kiddos went over to Thrive.
Thrive is an organic/vegan restaurant hidden in the Garden Center on Alton Rd.
The food was yummy, the courtyard was great, the company was excellent!
It had been a while since Lily had a painting session with friends.
So, I got my mommy friends and their kiddos together and we had a lovely morning at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.
We couldn’t have asked for better weather. 🙂
P.S. Let me know if you notice any difference in my pictures. Will surprised me with a Nikon 3100 (thanks Will and thanks tax return!). I’m still learning how to use it but having tons of fun while doing so.
Book shelf please!!!!
What started as 1 small book pile on Lily’s play mat, has turned into 3-4 large book piles.
With the help of gifts from family and friends, small book collections have formed themselves.
Can’t wait for Lily to have her own room so all of these books can be nicely placed on a bookshelf. 🙂
Lily, Sofia and Dylan.
These three are insuperable.
No matter how many kids are at the park, these three always end up together by themselves.
Lily never gets mad at Sofia, but she does grunt at Dylan.
I guess she feels like the third wheel sometimes since Dylan and Sofia are in love and Sofia is Lily’s bff.
They have been in each others lives as long as they can remember. (almost a year now)
The more time they spend together, the more they love each other.
We can’t help to just stand back and watch these three amigos.
This morning we went to a Valentine’s Day piano concert at the Miami Beach Community Church.
It was orchestrated by one of the moms we know from the park.
She played Disney, movie and classic piano love songs.
All of Lily’s friends were there and she got to give them the hearts I made for her to hand out. (because we heart our friends!!!!)
Everyone had a great time.
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!!!!
NO, this is not a pregnancy announcement!!
Lately I have friends say to me: “Lily’s getting big! It’s time for the second one, no?”
And when I posted on Facebook that I was sick, “BABY?” was the most asked question as well.
Well, Will and I are not planning on having another baby until we are really settled elsewhere.
We are trying to move from Miami to Raleigh into a house where we can ALL have more room and also easily accommodate friends and family when they visit.
Biologically ticking, I mean speaking… NOW would be ideal but NOW isn’t going to happen.
So, until then I am enjoying #1, LILY!
Have a great weekend everyone!
P.S.- Thank you for all the get well wishes. I’m feeling a lot better. 🙂
With moving becoming more and more of a reality, I worry if this is the right move for our family.
I worry if this is the right move for you!
I feel such pain in my heart and such guilt when I think about taking you away from your friends and everything you know.
I’m aware that you are just 14 months old and you will adjust to just about any situation but, I just can’t help but to worry.
When I was little, I was moved around a lot and I hated it.
Constantly having to make new friends, getting to know new places, having to constantly adapt…
I hated it!
I hope that Raleigh will be the right place for us.
I hope you will be as happy there as you are here if not more.
I hope we get a house where you can grow into and have the same friends for a long time.
Roots are important.
I feel like I never had them.
Maybe that’s why it’s so important for me to give them to you.
Just know that pai and I always have the best intentions and your best interest in mind.
I know, today is thursday BUT, yesterday was wednesday and it truly was ARTsy wednesday here.
We were supposed to have a picnic at southpoint with 5 other mommy friends and their kiddos but because it was not picnic weather, aside from an early walk down Lincoln Rd, we mostly stayed home and played with the wonderful artsy gifts that Lily has been given.
The easel was Lily’s birthday present from avo Hayes and avo Joao.
I love it and I think Lily does too! (one of my favorite presents from my dad is my easel, it hasn’t been used in a while but I’ve had it since 1995(?) and I think of him every time I use it)
I do have to say though, thank goodness for washable paints. 🙂
When Lily woke up yesterday morning, the first thing she did was visit her books and spend time going through them and all their pages.
Later in the afternoon we went on a walk down Lincoln Rd and she was just ecstatic looking at the water fountains.
Once at the park, she was so happy to see sand again!
She sat down in it, picked it up and let it run through her fingers for a while.
Then, her friends showed up.
It was like we had never left… 🙂
i love that smile! 🙂
