First there was Lily and Sofia.
Then came Dylan.
Nowadays there are so many little ones at the park, it’s insane!
And I was worried we wouldn’t meet any friends….

I won a giveaway from Marvelous Kiddo. (I can’t believe it)
It arrived in the mail yesterday. All the way from Switzerland!
It will look so great in a frame in Lily’s future room.

isn’t it great?
Lately I have been wondering how much is too much and what is not enough when it comes to getting Lily involved into baby activities.
Yesterday we were invited by Barbara and Dylan to go to a Movers & Shakers class at the Temple Beth Sholom.
They offer 1 free class to see if you like it and are interested in signing up.
The class was wonderful! I really liked the way Miss Rachel (once a teacher) conducted the class.
It was a wonderful room to begin with, with lots of wonderful toys for all the little ones to play with, and they got to do a little bit of everything.
There was play time, music and singing time, arts and crafts time, snack time, learning time…
It was 1 hour and 15 minutes of great learning fun.
As wonderful as it was, I’m not sure if I want to sign Lily up just yet.
I mean, we already go to the library every wednesday. We play at the park with our friends just about EVERY afternoon. We go to the beach thursday mornings also with our friends. We have had art in the park twice and look forward to the next one.
I feel like Lily gets plenty of stimulation from being with other children.
We also do a lot of one-on-one with her at home as far as reading, playing and learning is concerned.
How much is too much?
Shouldn’t I be saving some of this running around for when Lily gets older and really gets involved into things?
I would love to hear from some of you moms out there who have had or have kids and have some input on this topic.
Do you feel like I do?
What do you do with your little one?

class at Temple Beth Sholom. so many wonderful toys
We are so happy that our friends Claudia and Sofia are back from their vacation.
They arrived on sunday and we were at the park first thing yesterday morning for some much needed play time.
I think it had been almost 2 months since Lily and Sofia played together.
We missed you Claudia and Sofia!!

Lily hoggin’ all the toys again…
Saturday afternoon while I went on a little shopping outing with a friend, Lily and Will had some daughter and daddy time to themselves.
Will took Lily to the park at South Point.
A great park that was renovated a while ago where you can catch some great sunsets as well as watch the ships go by.
They had a great time!
All photos by Will (aka Lily’s dad). Not only is he a great husband and father but he is also an awesome photographer. 😉

Mine and Will’s relationship with Miami is….. complicated.
There are many things we love about this place. Our friends, the beach, the great community we now have around us, how easy it is to get around, the variety of culture, the art scene, our friends (did I mention friends already? we really love our friends)…
There are many things we hate about it too. How hot it is all year long (I think it’s hot 10 months out of the year), the lack of seasons (both Will and I really miss Fall), how flat the scenery is (it’s FLAT here!), how far Miami is from everything (if you drive for 5 hours, you are still in Florida and everything is still FLAT!)…
And just when we talk about moving out of state again (Raleigh, NC is still #1 choice), I have wonderful days like yesterday only to make things more complicated!
Lily and I had an amazing morning at the beach. It really couldn’t have been more amazing. (only Will there would have made it more amazing)
Yesterday was library monday. (soon to be library wednesday since they have changed the day)
We had not been there in a month and Lily was so happy to be there.
A lot of our friends were missing but there were lots of new friends for Lily to play with.
She was miss busy body, crawling all over the place, standing up onto chairs, easily playing with all the other kids.
She is so different from when we first started going…
taking it all in
It’s his birthday today! (Quick! call this number and wish him a happy birthday! 786-24…….just kidding!)
We had a great brunch with friends yesterday and we will have a small celebration today as well.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Will!
Lily and I love you soooooooooooooo much!
Eric, Nicole and Sisto James!!!!!
After many (many, many, many) hours of labor, our dear friends welcomed their first born to the world.
Welcome Sisto James!! (how cool is his name?)
