Very girlie indeed

Lily is becoming quite the little girl.

She loves jewelry.

She likes picking out her own shoes. (I would like to say she gets this only from me but, you should see Will’s shoe collection)

She likes bags. (ok, she gets this from me 😉 )

Lately, whenever she and I are headed out and she sees me grab my bag, she grabs a bag.

Here she is as she walked around our neighborhood yesterday.

I like to call it LILY AND THE CITY.

what? you didn’t know that 2 bags is the new trend?

ARTsy wednesday

I know, today is thursday BUT, yesterday was wednesday and it truly was ARTsy wednesday here.

We were supposed to have a picnic at southpoint with 5 other mommy friends and their kiddos but because it was not picnic weather, aside from an early walk down Lincoln Rd, we mostly stayed home and played with the wonderful artsy gifts that Lily has been given.

The easel was Lily’s birthday present from avo Hayes and avo Joao.

I love it and I think Lily does too! (one of my favorite presents from my dad is my easel, it hasn’t been used in a while but I’ve had it since 1995(?) and I think of him every time I use it)

I do have to say though, thank goodness for washable paints. 🙂

Lily’s 1st birthday

For Lily’s birthday yesterday, we had a small family birthday party for her at tia Tete’s house.

As always there was lots of food and tons of sweets.

Lily walked more than ever yesterday.

She was all over the yard and the house all by herself.

We sang happy birthday to her both in Portuguese and in English.

She was all about the cake, the blowing of the candle, the opening of all the wonderful presents that she received and wearing the beautiful dress that uncle Michael gave her a while back.

It was a wonderful day.

I can’t believe she is 1. She is officially a toddler…

I will let the pictures speak for themselves. Picture overload again. 😉

ARTsy wednesday

Sebastian turned 1 last week.

Even though unfortunately we were not able to make it to his little birthday party, we wanted to give him a little something.

What do you give a 1 year old that has tons of toys, clothes, books….?

I decided to draw a portrait of Sebastian so he could hang it up in his room. (it was also an excuse for me to draw a bit 😉 )

The eye-hand coordination way of drawing has been a favorite of mine since art school (many, many, many ages ago).

I like the way it is unconventional and you can really have fun with it.

I drew his portrait, used color pencils to give it some color, lightly glued the drawing on a piece of construction paper, framed it and voila!

An ARTsy gift!

P.S.- Don’t forget to enter the GIVEAWAY!!!!

Our very first GIVEAWAY!! :)

When I was contacted by Jasmine from Dakota’s Personalized Gifts about doing a product review and the chance to do our very first giveaway, I couldn’t reply “YES!” fast enough.

I quickly visited the site and tried to find an item I would like to review.

Being a photo addict, the category “Photo Gifts” caught my eye and I instantaneously knew that the Picture Perfect Personalized Tote Bag was the item I would like to review.

I emailed the picture, the caption and my choice of color for the font to Jasmine and 4 days later, my very own “Lily” Picture Perfect Personalized Tote Bag arrived in the mail.

I LOVE it! (thank you Jasmine!!)

The Picture Perfect Personalized Tote Bag is 100% cotton canvas, it’s 16″ h x 14″ w and it’s machine washable! It’s the perfect bag to take to the beach, grocery shopping and even though it doesn’t have any compartments inside, you can use it as a diaper bag.

how cute is my bag?

I actually had mine made for my mom. I love the idea of her carrying it around in Portugal so she can always have Lily with her.

You know you want one!

And now you can have a chance at winning one.
