Little nature girl

Lily is truly a nature girl.

I’m not sure if I have written about this (I think I have…) but, when I was pregnant, Will and I would joke about how we would not buy Lily any toys. (and we really don’t)

That Lily would just have to entertain herself with sticks and stones. LOL

Well, sticks and stones are no problem for her.

Actually, she loves sticks and stones.

And sand.

And leaves!

At a playground full of swings and slides, Lily will just sit in the sand and play with it for a long while.

Or she will walk away and go towards the grass where she can find sticks and leaves.

She loves nature best.

I love that about her. ( I hope she stays that way)

Parabens Sebastiao!

Cousin Sebastiao turned 9 on friday and had his birthday party yesterday.

Lena (my cousin, his mom) did such a great job with all the drinks, cakes and games she had for the kids.

Lily had a wonderful time playing with cousin Sofia and watching all the older kids run around.

We couldn’t have asked for better weather.

It was a great saturday.

OH! And speaking of lil miss independent, Lily will most likely be walking soon. She is feeling quite confident these days. She got a lot of solo walking time between tia Tete and me at the party.

Look who thinks she’s a BIG girl!

Lily wants to be a BIG girl SO bad!!!

Yesterday she was obsessed with the big swing.

The baby swing was just not an option.

So, I sat her on the big swing, I told her to hold on tight to the chain and lightly pushed her.

At first I was holding her arm a little but when I realized that she was all about it and was not going to let go, I let go!

She is on her way to being a BIG girl… 🙁 and 🙂

the big swing is serious stuff

Photo challenge!

Joining The Paper Mama with her weekly photo challenge.

This week’s challenge: EXCITEMENT

Now we all know that Lily is for the most part a serious girl but she does get excited every once in a while.

I have never seen such excitement in her face like the time we went swimming at Whittaker.

It was her first time and she was so excited to be there.

She wasn’t the only one, avo Joao was pretty excited too! 😉

Fun with aunt Sarah

We are so happy that we adultnapped aunt Sarah for the week. (we want to show her Miami better and try to convince her to move here. ;))

It is truly great that Lily gets to spend some extra time with her now that she is finally familiar and super comfortable with her aunt Sarah.

We have been to the beach, the Miami Beach Botanical Garden and of course the park! (there has also been some girl shopping time.)

We will definitely be sad to see her leave on saturday. 🙁 (time is going by so fast! i think time goes by slower in West Virginia…)

(Oh! And please click here and then click again. Thank you!)

He’s a GIRL!!!

Lately it seems that every where I go, I have to correct people on Lily being a GIRL and not a boy!

I know that she does look like a boy at times, I mean, she looks just like her dad but, just because she’s not dressed in pink dresses with ruffles, it doesn’t mean that she is a boy!

People on the street: “QUE LINDO!”

Me: “LINDA!!”

People on the street: “QUE PRECIOSO!”

Sales associate at a store: “He’s going to be such a lady killer. Look at those eyes!!”

Me: “Well, she’s a lady herself.”

Sales person: “Oh.”

Me: “But I guess she can still turn out to be a lady killer, right?”

Sales person: ———-(silence)

So, last night for uncle Darren’s birthday dinner I wasn’t going to take any more chances. I dressed Lily in her pretty pink babyGap dress that avo Hayes gave her.

Not only was she wearing a pink dress but, I also put pink shoes on her as well! Lily wants us to help her walk all the time now so it’s time to put those little feet in shoes (as much as she hates it!). Our friend Rikki had given her a pair at my baby shower and they fit Lily perfect!

So there she was all pretty in pink (if I can say so myself). Behaving oh so well….

After uncle Darren opened his gift, I put the crafty ribbon on Lily’s head as a headband. It’s a tradition of mine to make somebody (usually me) wear the ribbons from the presents (can’t let them go to waste!).

Pink dress, pink shoes, headband….a girl was born!!!

I didn’t hear “LINDO” or “PRECIOSO” once last night. Instead, I heard: “LINDA!” and “PRECIOSA!”

Ahhhhhhh… was like music to my ears.

Here is our little GIRL at dinner last night.

P.S.- I think I’m going to try to make some more of those headbands because yeah…I can be crafty like that. 😉
