Fall fashion. Day 3

Stripes anyone????

Sorry, stripes 2 days in row. I guess I’m liking stripes a lot this season also. Both for me and for Lily. 😉

To change the scenery a bit (sorry, no terrace pics yet this morning), I took these in the bedroom as we got ready.

What I’m wearing: Striped sweater by Scoop NYC, Layering tank underneath by Gapbody, The Kiss Jeans by AG, Knitted cap by Urban Outfitters, Earrings are vintage, and Booties (yes, again!) by French Connection.

What Lily is wearing: Striped shirt by Old Navy, Denim overalls by babyGap, Socks by Old Navy, Shoes/Booties by Pablosky Kids.

The bonnet parade

Lily has become quite the little bonnet (they are not exactly bonnets but I like calling them that) wearer around here.

Between the knitted caps that I brought and the ones that avo Carmo crocheted (along with matching sweaters), Lily’s head is nice and warm when she heads out to the cafe with avo Ricardo in the morning.

Sweet little Lily moments

This past week as exhausting as it was, it was also really fun.

Lily is such a fun and energetic little person these days.

When at home, she is babbling like crazy, crawling all over the place, standing up holding onto everything and trying to walk.

When out, she is not as vocal but she is still the same little explorer like she is at home.

She is quite the curious little one. 😉

Sometimes I like to just stand back and watch her.

And of course take a few shots when she is completely not aware of the camera.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

Little pointer

Lily has been quite the little pointer these days.

She points at everything!

She points at mommy, daddy, trees, cars…

She doesn’t necessarily say anything.

She just sticks her little finger out and points. 😉

We have an artist!

Today through the South Beach Mommies Meet-up group we had ART in the Park at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.

It was SOOOOOO much fun!

Almost 20 moms with their little ones showed up and for most of us, it was our little one’s first time painting.

There were blankets all spread out on the grass, paper and washable paints being shared all underneath the shade of a wonderful big tree.

Everyone had an amazing time, mommies and babies.

It was so wonderful being able to have had such an artistic experience with Lily. When I was pregnant, I would daydream about painting with Lily, and today it became real!

I think it’s the beginning of something really good. 😉

(Sorry for the picture overload but, I think in this case a picture (make that many) is worth a thousand words)

Summer fashion week- day 4

Today we had to go to Target to get some diapers and house cleaning products.

At first I thought about what cute outfit I would wear to share with you on our trip there but then…. I thought about how much more fun and challenging it would be (mostly for me) if I actually went to Target and put together a whole entire outfit with their own items.

So, that’s what I did!

While Will and Lily were busy shopping and checking off items on our list, I was busy putting together this Sex and the City (Carrie Bradshaw channeled me) inspired outfit.

EVERYTHING (and I mean everything) but my undergarments are from Target. (and no, Target did not pay me for this. ;))

I didn’t exactly calculate the whole entire cost of all the items together but I think they totaled around $100.00. (+ or -)

YAY Target!!

Summer fashion week- day 2 (really 3)

Today’s fashion post is about beach style. (since Lily and I went to the beach this morning)

My favorite things to wear to the beach are a hat, sunglasses, a long sleeved cotton tunic (I prefer long sleeves so the sun is not beating straight down on the skin, it’s less hot believe it or not), long lounge pants and flip flops.

The death of my third eye

Saturday morning when Will, Lily and I got to the beach, I pulled my camera out to take some pictures (like I always do) and for some odd reason, the focus wouldn’t work.

At first I was going to just put the camera away but as I looked through the screen, I liked what I saw.

Everything was fuzzy and out of focus, kind of like an impressionist painting.

So, I shot these photos right before my camera decided to die altogether.

It’s not the first time a camera has died on me. It probably won’t be the last time either. I over use them. (surprise!)

But every time I’m left without one, I feel handicapped.

My camera is like a third eye to me. Sometimes it’s even more like a second eye.

Thankfully, Will has lent me his camera in the meanwhile but, I miss my third eye….. 🙁

A different kind of “in the know”

When entering the library yesterday morning, I was pleasantly surprised to see Cari with her niece Amanda.

I had met Cari with Amanda at the playground the previous week and had told her about library mondays.

We all had a wonderful time singing and listening to story time as usual and before leaving Cari asked for my number.

Cari: “Claudia, can I get your number? You seem to be the mom in the know”.

A quick flashback went through me.

Not too long (but yet what seems to be lifetime ago) when I worked retail, I was the one my co-workers would refer customers and hotel guests to.

Back then, I was in the know of the hottest clubs, restaurants, lounges, anything that had to do with going out on this beach on any day of the week.

How my life has changed, I quickly thought to myself.

Me: “When did that happen?”

Now I’m in the know of library mondays, afternoon pool tuesdays at Sebastian’s, meet-up beach thursdays, music classes, free museum days, diapers, cereal, strollers, bottles, blankets….anything that has to do with babies.

A big smile came across my face….thank you Lily! 🙂
