Meet-up thursday

Today we met up at the beach with a Miami Meet-up group. We had met up with them once before at the organic Earth N Us farm.

Claudia, Zura and I had been meeting up on thursdays at the beach on our own but we decided to join the meet-up group today and we were all glad that we did.

We got to meet more moms and the girls (Lily, Lien and Sofia) got to meet other kids. Older kids, who Lily loves to watch!

We all swam with the girls, Lily got to make some sand castles with a 6 year old girl, it was another lovely morning at the beach.

We will be meeting up again next thursday!

Amazing beachy tuesday morning

I know I always say the water and the beach are perfect but today, they really were!! 😉

Lily and I got to the beach at 9:30am this morning and it was just beautiful.

There weren’t many around yet, the tide was out, the water was warm and there were tons of little fish swimming all around us.

You could walk forever before you would be fully submerged in water today. It was like an amazing giant pool with little fish everywhere.

Lily played on the sand, swam, splashed, chased the fish, it really was amazing!

In between rain storms

Despite all the rain over the weekend (it’s officially rainy season), we had a wonderful weekend.

On friday, a big rainstorm and loss of electricity inspired us to take out the RummiKub game board and play a couple of games. When I was pregnant with Lily, Will and I used to play all the time! It was wonderful to have her out of the belly and join us. 😉 At night I took some pictures of some of my favorite decorative objects in our apartment. The lighting was perfect!

Things we LOVE!

The trees in our neighborhood filled with purple flowers!

Before it was trees with yellow flowers, and now there are different trees blooming. These have flowers with a yellow center and purple petals. (Some of my favorite colors, purple and yellow.) The petals look like they are made out of tissue paper. LOVE them!

Here is Lily checking them out when we went for a walk this morning before the beach. Lily wears a romper by Zutano and hat by Patagonia.

Must have of the day

More mornings at the beach like the one we had today with Claudia, Sofia, Zura and Lien. (Sherrie and McCoy you were missed)

All 3 girls had some diaper free bottom time, they were in the water (it was Lien’s first time, picture #2), they played (picture #4), they ate, they napped (Lien, picture #5), everyone got to get to know each other better (Zura and Lily, picture #6) and there was even time for some baby free mommy swimming time (Zura and Claudia, picture #7).

Must have of the day

I felt run down all last week but pushed myself anyway. Well, it caught up to me.

I woke up at 3:00a.m. and could hardly swallow. My throat was on fire.

When it was time to wake up this morning, my body did not want to get out of bed. It was all achy….

I’m going to try to get lots of rest and will probably not be doing any posts for the next couple of days because I want to feel better. Not just for myself bu also because I want to give Lily my 110%. 😉

Here we are in Naples on saturday, Lily wears a hat by Patagonia. And sunday when I was already feeling not so great. Lily wears pajamas by Old Navy.

West coast sunset

Lily was feeling much better by the time she woke up on saturday and since we had promised our friends we would pay them a visit, to Naples we went this weekend.

Despite me feeling completely run down, we had a great time on the west coast of Florida.

The best moment was watching the sun set on the ocean.

We went to the beach at around 7p.m., did some swimming, collected pretty shells (much prettier than the ones we get here in Miami) and then walked towards the Naples pier to catch one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen in a while.

Watching the sun set on the ocean reminded me of when I used to live in San Diego, CA. San Diego has the most beautiful sunsets.

My favorite thing to do when I lived there was to go sit on a cliff in La Jolla and watch the sun set on the ocean while listening to the waves crash on the cliffs. It always seemed like the most wonderful way to end the day.

It was a short trip, it seemed like a short weekend altogether but well worth it! We even saw a dolphin swimming around during the sunset. 🙂
