The weather here yesterday got no complaints from me.
It was in the 60’s just how I like it and I only hope it stays like that for a while. (wishful thinking on my part. always)
Will, Lily and I went on a long bike ride and we also stopped by the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Will hadn’t seen it since the renovation.
So, the weather was great, the bike ride and the garden were fun, blah, blah, blah. Whatever. What I would like to talk about on here today is jeans.
Skinny, high waisted jeans at that.
I found the perfect pair and they didn’t cost more than $100.00. Heck, they didn’t cost more than $60.00!
The days of me spending $200.00 on jeans have been over for a while. Not only do I no longer work retail therefore don’t get the great discount but we are also a family of 3 on 1 paycheck.
So, goodbye 7for all mankind, Joe’s, AG, Diesel.
I had not purchased a pair of jeans since before I got pregnant with Lily. Not only has my body changed in the 3 years but I was also sick of the few jeans I had.
I tried Gap, Urban Outfitters, F21. None of their jeans fit me right.
Then I decided to go to Levi’s and try a few pair there. I knew just what I wanted. I wanted high waisted, regular blue denim with not a whole lot of stretch. Preferably no stretch.
I tried a bunch of women’s jeans and none of them fit the way I wanted them to fit.
So, I told the sales person I wasn’t opposed to men’s jeans. I wore men’s 501’s all through high school.
He brought me a pair of 510 super skinny men’s jeans and as soon as I put them on, it was like I heard angels singing in the fitting room.
Bingo! Perfect! Just what I had been looking for.
Good old denim that feels and looks like denim. High waisted just right. 30″ inseam so they hit at the ankle just like I wanted.
The only thing that was weird is that in men’s jeans you have to go up sizes. Shouldn’t it be the other way around? Weird.
Whatever size, I don’t care. 510 men’s super skinny, I love you!
What about you ladies? Do you have a jean you just love and live by?
Although Elmo rode in the car with Lily from Miami to West Virginia and he hung out for a few days in the library/play room when we first got here, he had been forgotten about in Lily’s crib.
Until last week that is.
Out of nowhere Lily looked at me and said “Elmo?”.
We went to grab him from the crib, she put him in a doll’s stroller cousin Adelaide left behind and wheeled him outside to meet Lola.
It’s nice to see that even though Lily is surrounded by new friends, she doesn’t forget her old ones. 😉
After lounging at home for a while, yesterday late afternoon even though it was raining, we decided to go for a drive to Coconut Grove and maybe eat somewhere we had never been.
I got lily dressed first and after I dressed myself, I realized that I dressed myself like her.
Or did I dress her like me?
Either way, we had the same look going on.
Before heading out, I asked Will to take our picture and while he was doing so, I noticed he had birds on his belt.
“Birds of a feather, flock together” I thought to myself.
The three of us seemed to all have something that went with the other. 🙂
With Yelp’s help (do you guys ever use it? we love it!), we ended up eating at the Peacock Garden Cafe. (perfect but not planned for our bird theme).
It was lovely to be able to sit outside under a big awning looking and listening to the rain and thunderstorms.
Once it cleared up, a rainbow appeared and the sky looked the most beautiful I have seen it in a while.
It was a hot and busy day yesterday (in the high 80’s) and I know it’s crazy that I picked jeans (I have to get my legs waxed) but at least I had my cool cotton/linen tunic on also.
