Lincoln R

Lincoln Rd style

Lincoln Rd is like our back yard.

For those of you who don’t live in Miami and who are not familiar with it, Lincoln Rd is a long street that goes for about 12 blocks, is filled with restaurants, stores, cafes, art galleries, and it only has traffic on the cross streets.

Sometimes when I feel like taking Lily out of the house but don’t necessarily feel like going to the park and such, we walk down Linclon Rd.

Lily loves it.

She loves all the water features, flowers and the people.

Here she is on a little walk down Lincoln Rd.

Sunday, a repeat of saturday

How was everyone’s weekend?

Yesterday was basically a repeat of saturday.

Lily and I went to the beach with uncle Darren and our friend Chloe met up with us there also.

We stayed at the beach longer than usual, it was almost 1pm when we left. Ouch!

We all had lunch at the Front Porch and on our walk home on Lincoln Rd, Lily was a bit like a zombie.

She wasn’t the only one, I feel like I had a marathon of a week.

But hey, Will is back home and I can at least enjoy my coffee peacefully in the morning again.

Happy monday everyone!

A clutch story

After I did the post “A DASHing evening”, Ellen commented on how she wanted to see more of my clutch.

I have been trying so hard to remember where I got this clutch.

If I tell you that I have had it forever and that saturday night was the first time I wore it, you probably won’t believe me but, it’s the truth. (I think I have had it longer than 10 years)

I either got it at the Lincoln Rd market or at a vintage store but EVERY time I went to wear it, I always felt like it was too big.

On saturday, once I put on my purple jumpsuit (that I hadn’t worn since I was pregnant with Lily in 2009), I knew that I wanted to wear red shoes.

I love the combination of purple and red together.

I decided to wear the red platform sandals I had not worn since I met Will in 2007.

So, the outfit was almost complete except for the bag.

I wasn’t sure what bag to wear, I didn’t want to wear the gray satchel I usually wear or the pewter clutch I tend to go to at last moment.

I reached deep into my accessory drawer and brought out the red clutch.

It was its time to shine. 😉

Rockin’ mercury

How’s everyone doing with this mercury retrograde?

Have you been rocked by it like we have here?

I’m telling you, I have not been affected by one like I have with this one.

Emotions were flying high this past weekend.

We had all these plans for saturday and sunday but due to emotions and moods not cooperating, the only thing we did a lot of was watch Netflix Instant movies on our big screen tv. (I will share those movies on a later post)

We did however manage to go for a walk on Lincoln Rd and stumbled into Anthropologie‘s great Earth Day Event.

Anthropologie collaborated with our local Whole Foods and had a re-potting event.

They had basil, rosemary and other herb plants for you to re-pot as well as food and freshly squeezed juices.

Lily and I picked a basil plant, Lily had the world’s smallest vegan cupcake and a banana, Kale and spinach juice.

I was completely unprepared and camera free but, here is a picture of our new basil plant on our balcony along with the other goodies that were in the goody bag.

Eleven eleven

The spiritual meaning of number eleven is quite diverse.

The number 11 is thought of as a “master” number in numerology because it is a double digit of the same number. When this occurs – the vibrational frequency of the prime number doubles in power. Meaning, the attributes of the Number One are doubled.

Therefore, the very basic and primary understanding of the Number One is that of new beginnings and purity. When we see this digit doubled as with the 11 – then these attributes double in strength.

In numerology the number 11 represents:

  • Higher ideals
  • Invention
  • Refinement
  • Congruency
  • Balance
  • Fulfillment
  • Vision

The 11 carries a vibrational frequency of balance. It represents male and female equality. It contains both sun energy and moon energy simultaneously yet holding them both in perspective separate-ness. Perfect balance.

Consequently, constant reoccurances of number 11 in our lives often signal us to be aware of our balance:

  • Balance emotion, thought and spirit
  • Balance of masculine and feminine aspects
  • Balance of work and play

1111 Lincoln Rd

Robert Wennett wins the ambitious property developer award of the day with his 11 11 (eleven eleven) project in Miami. Wennett is remodeling an aging SunTrust building on Lincoln Road and is adding the building seen below which is designed by the Swiss architects Herzog & De Meuron. The building is a unique combination of retail, residential, and parking. Wennett actually calls it a “parking sculpture,” with some floors rising 30 feet high supported by angular concrete forms. All of this combined with over 50,000 square feet of retail space is sure to make a vibrant statement on the Miami design scene.

Balance, invention, purity and vision is just what I feel when I am in this 1111 space.

It is the rawest piece of architecture that I have yet encountered.

Here are some pictures I took last night.

Have a great weekend everyone!
