Wednesday morning instead of going to the library as usual, we went to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden for a free kids performance.
Fantasy cooking school consisted of 3 actors playing different characters and even though it was complete silliness for 1 hour, Lily and all her little friends seemed to have enjoyed their first piece of live theater.
Afterwards we enjoyed the new grounds and a little picnic.
Here are some fun pictures, happy friday everyone!

The last time we went to the Earth N Us farm, Lily was around 6 months old, and she ended up vomiting due to a reaction from a shot that she had had the previous day.
It wasn’t so much fun.
Yesterday however, it was a different story.
She fed goats, chickens, got to see a pig, chase a rooster, see ducklings and ostriches, play with her old friends and make a new one….
It was great!
Earth N Us Urban Organic Farm is owned by Ray who believes in an open door policy. Yes, anyone can just walk in!
They sell organic eggs, honey and goat milk.
It is located at 7630 NE 1st Ave in Miami.
Have a wonderful saturday everyone!

Sherrie and I met at the library for story time a little over a year ago.
Both Lily and McCoy were still little babies then.
Sherrie’s friendly, funny and down to earth personality made me warm up to her right away, we exchanged numbers and made plans for future play dates.
We got to know each other for a few more months and then she and McCoy moved to Virginia until recently.
Let me tell you something about this mama, when she says she is going to get something done, she goes and gets it done.
Like getting her MBA… she set out to go get it and she did! (go mama!)
Sherrie and McCoy have been back to Miami now for almost a month and I’m so glad to have them back. 🙂
P.S.- Sherrie also writes an awesome and super inspirational blog called
Sherrie’s way to seize the day. Go on over and check it out!

On tuesday we had our first
Buzzy Kids Playdate hosted by Patricia and Samantha.
It was wonderful because it was at the park by our house and everyone got to join!
This first art play date was all about the primary colors and what other colors they create when mixed together.
Even though the smaller toddlers were only interested for a bit and distracted by the playground, the bigger kids really enjoyed the art project and at the end everyone had a wonderful time.
We look forward to more Buzzy Kids Playdates! 🙂
P.S.- We are also super happy to have back our friends Sherrie and McCoy.

Last week we had many mornings at the beach.
Thursday to sunday to be exact.
The water has been amazing!!!
It is the perfect temperature, the tide has been out every morning with a sand bar in the middle, it is as clear as it could be.
Here are some of my favorite outdoor moments at the beach from this past week.
Happy Labor Day everyone!!!!! Be safe.

Today through the South Beach Mommies Meet-up group we had ART in the Park at the Miami Beach Botanical Garden.
It was SOOOOOO much fun!
Almost 20 moms with their little ones showed up and for most of us, it was our little one’s first time painting.
There were blankets all spread out on the grass, paper and washable paints being shared all underneath the shade of a wonderful big tree.
Everyone had an amazing time, mommies and babies.
It was so wonderful being able to have had such an artistic experience with Lily. When I was pregnant, I would daydream about painting with Lily, and today it became real!
I think it’s the beginning of something really good. 😉
(Sorry for the picture overload but, I think in this case a picture (make that many) is worth a thousand words)

Today was Miss Claudia’s last day doing the readings at the library. (yes, another Claudia)
I know that all of us moms were a bit sad to see her go.
Miss Claudia is so animated and so good with all the little ones.
We hope the next person will be just as good.
Lily was miss social today. She was ALL over the place!
She was crawling over to all the babies, mommies, Miss Claudia and smiling up a storm. I think she is coming out of her shell. 😉

Yesterday was a bad day but today is a new day and a good day. That’s the way it goes, right?
Will took Lily to the park yesterday afternoon and it gave me almost 2 hours by myself.
It was just what I needed. Some “alone” time. (thank you Will!)
As I sat here feeling sorry for myself, I could hear my mom in my head.
Had she been here yesterday (she’s still alive and well thankfully, just not here), she would have told me to woman up!
So you know what?
I felt it, verbalized it, got through it and carried on!
P.S.- I want to thank my family, friends and mommy bloggers (you know who you all are) who showed some major support to the way I was feeling yesterday. Thank you!

We continue to go to the library on mondays and it is the best thing. EVER!
It is so great seeing all the wonderful progress the little ones are making.
When we first started going, they were all babies. None of them could really do anything.
Now, they are big infants! Most of them are crawling, sitting on their own, lifting themselves up, a lot of them have teeth, they are now aware of each other.
Moms are already talking about and planning the very first birthday party. It is all happening way too fast!
so happy to be surrounded by books
with Samantha. intense infant converstation

If you are a new mom like myself and do not have many mommy friends like I didn’t, you should really check out what kind of free programs your town has to offer.
On mondays our local library does story telling and singing for babies until 18 months old for free! (They also do it on tuesdays and thursdays but from 18 months- 3 years old)
I have met some great moms through the library and Lily has met some awesome babies to play with.
Free and fun programs that your town has to offer? It’s a “Must”!
