A record nap

If you have been coming here for a while and keeping up with Lily, you know she has never been much of a napper and dropped her nap a long time ago.

The past 2 days she wasn’t feeling that great again.

She must have caught a light stomach bug because she vomited everything she put down.

Yesterday when I put her on my bed with a soft blanket to watch Pinocchio she fell asleep within 10 minutes.

That was at 1pm. She finally woke up at 5pm.

She took a 4 hour nap. 4 hours!!!

I kept checking on her every 15 minutes in disbelief of the fact that she was still sleeping.

Never in her life has she napped for that long. Never until yesterday.

The laziest of saturdays

Memorial Day weekend here in Miami Beach is a bit crazy.

It’s a weekend where people from all over come and take over the beach and the locals either leave town or don’t leave home.

So, with Will a bit hungover yesterday and with the beach invaded by out of towners, we ended up having the laziest of saturdays.

We stayed home, had pancakes for breakfast, watched movies, played, went swimming in our pool, napped…. with the exception of walking to our local bodega for some ice cream, we really didn’t leave the house.

It was great!

How is your weekend going?

Happy napper

Lily has been taking some nice naps lately. (watch me jinx myself right now…)

Even though she has her own room, I still let her nap on our bed.

I usually lie down with her, she talks and talks (babbles and babbles) while I pretend to be asleep until she finally starts fading and falls asleep.

I think it helps to really be active with her in the mornings and I also think she is starting to appreciate the art of napping.

She no longer wakes up after 1 hour still cranky and crying trying to fight off left over tiredness.

She sleeps 2-3 hours a day now.

I’m enjoying it while I can, I’m aware it doesn’t last forever. (it always changes. go back and look at THIS.)

She should have been napping…

Yesterday was the longest day.

Want to know why?

Because Lily would NOT nap!!!

I tried for an hour and a half and she fought her sleep like I have never seen her do before.

So, I gave up and told her to just sit on her play mat and play or read.

She decided to get crafty with her feet instead. 😉

Daylight sunday

When I woke up yesterday morning I had no idea that daylight savings had taken place.

Did that happen to any of you?

We had a great sunday.

Uncle Darren came over for lunch and a nap 😉 , we walked around Lincoln Rd and checked out the vintage market, checked out some art at the Lincoln Rd Gallery and some books at Books&Books.

Before we knew it, it was 7pm and we were still out and about!

How was your weekend?

Is anyone else’s toddler fighting their nap?

I don’t understand, Lily has been waking up earlier in the morning (still going to bed at 8pm like always) and not wanting to sleep the 1 hour she usually does during the day.

Is this it?

She’s only 15 months but is this the end to THE nap?

She was never much of a sleeper but, I miss my sleeping baby…

Is it the moon?

What is going on?

It seems to me that every toddler is out of whack right now. (including Lily, she woke up at 6am and wouldn’t even nap!))

Every baby blog I read with toddlers the same age as Lily, the babies are sick, whinny, fussy, won’t sleep.

Several friends on Facebook with children the same age, also complain about sick and whinny babies.

What is going on?

Is it the full moon?
