ARTsy wednesday
i have started the new year creating new art
letting myself trust the process and letting it lead me instead of the other way around
something different
and it feels great!

art is still the one thing Lilian occupies herself with the most when having “down time”
and lately whether at home or at her tuesday art classes, she has created some amazing things

some recent work by Lilian
it’s hard to keep track of and to photograph her work these days
she’s always working within lots of notebooks as well as doing a lot of digital art on her tablet
but i try to keep up…

Lilian’s interpretation of me with my little indoor jungle

painting with only three colors
without mixing said colors

i began painting on canvas again this weekend

stitched 18
i am not sure if i have said it on here yet but, one of the biggest silver linings of this pandemic for me has been to be able to create more art than i ever have before
it’s all i can and want to do
if my hands are physically busy, my mind won’t wonder as much

something a little different
because different is exactly how these days are

stitching has become like therapy for me
while i am stitching, it is like i am in a meditative state and all worries go away
i feel like the only thing i have control of these days is stitching my paintings
yet, it is not lost on me the irony that the more i stitch, the more life unravels around me
happy ARTsy wednesday friends! (on a thursday. it is thursday right?)
UPDATE: it’s friday. i totally lost a day. it’s ok. i’m ok…
paint, stitch
paint, stitch
paint, stitch
repeat
staying home is not any different than how the year started for me
it’s just filled with more worry, anxiety and less freedom
i’m just going to keep on creating….
happy ARTsy wednesday friends!
with homeschooling taking place and all after school activities cancelled, Lilian has had more time to create more art
she painted and stitched her own canvas, has created some really sweet watercolors, sewn felt donut animals (pictured in last week’s around here post), and made yarn kitties (not pictured)
there is some good with the bad…

Lilian and her bestie Bergen. because she misses her like crazy
spring flowers. a birthday card for our neighbor who turned seventy two
Lilian is obsessed with black widow and has organized a red room group. i am the head mistress
she actually created this while school was still happening for a third grade friend who always likes to wear black but was being questioned by another third grader (who was wearing a rainbow) why she never wears happy colors
