Memorial Day weekend here in Miami Beach is a bit crazy.
It’s a weekend where people from all over come and take over the beach and the locals either leave town or don’t leave home.
So, with Will a bit hungover yesterday and with the beach invaded by out of towners, we ended up having the laziest of saturdays.
We stayed home, had pancakes for breakfast, watched movies, played, went swimming in our pool, napped…. with the exception of walking to our local bodega for some ice cream, we really didn’t leave the house.
It was great!
How is your weekend going?

Last friday I joined auntie K and some of her co-workers for happy hour at Doraku.
I decided to wear one of my favorite Zara pants.
I purchased them in 2009 when I was pregnant with Lily, wore them throughout my pregnancy and I still wear them all the time.
I read in either Elle or Bazaar that harem pants should be “stored away”.
You know what though?
I can’t store them away.
I love my harem military pants and no matter what fashion says, I will continue on wearing them.
Do you have items like that?
Items that you love so much that even though fashion says “store away” you can’t?

It is days like yesterday that make Will and I look at each other and say “I am so glad we decided to stay in Miami”.
We spent the morning at the beach and in the afternoon we went for a ride in the car to check out all the graffiti in Wynwood. (I have been wanting to go back and take pictures for a while)
We walked around, checked out some awesome graffiti, took pictures and found the
Wynwood Kitchen and Bar where we decided to sit outside and have some dinner.
Let me stop for a second and tell you about the Wynwood Kitchen and Bar, I have never eaten at a place with SO much AMAZING art all around.
AMAZING! (and the food was pretty good too)
So, where else could we live where we could have the beach and awesome urban city life also?
Miami, we are so happy we stayed. 🙂
This post is picture heavy because not only was there amazing art everywhere but, I also want to show you “my” Miami.
Not the Miami The Real Housewives of Miami show you. 😉

We had a pretty chill day yesterday.
We did manage to ride our bikes down to the South Pointe Elementary Green market.
There were yummy cookies, fresh veggies and fruits, a band.
It was a good way to spend a saturday morning.
Hope you are all having a great weekend!
(Today is the last day to enter our awesome Mimosa
GIVEAWAY so go check it out if you haven’t already!)

Lily and I went to
I was hoping I would find some cute sandals for her since the other ones I got are still a bit big but, instead I walked out with 3 more Eric Carle books.
I looked in my closet and saw one of my Zara tops from last year that when I purchased it, I purchased it with the intentions of it being a “nicer” top.
Well, my social life is close to none these days (sad but true) and life is too short.
So, I wore it casually. 🙂
(Don’t forget to enter in our

I’ve decided to grow out my hair. For now. (like right now, who knows what will happen later…)
I’m not a fan of the growing out stage and the one thing I always turn to are headscarves. (I have a large collection,
When Lily saw me wrap my scarf around my head yesterday, she tapped her head. (meaning that she wanted one)
I grabbed a little neck scarf from my drawer and wrapped it around her little head.
We both stepped out for our sunday outing sporting some headgear. 😉

Seriously there is nothing THAT cute about this outfit other than my sandals. (and maybe the print on my pants)
I love these sandals because they remind me of Barcelona when Will and I were there on vacation in 2008.
I LOVE Barcelona! (oooooooooo maybe I will do a Barcelona post soon…)
Do you have items like that?
Something that you love putting on because it reminds of you of a place and time?
Ok, back to the outfit, Will thought I was wearing pajamas. LOL
I wasn’t but I guess it kind of looks like I am (sure felt like I was) but who cares because we spent the morning at the park and the afternoon at home since it rained.
Happy friday! Have a great weekend everyone!!
P.S.- There will be a product review and giveaway on monday. 🙂

Inspired by the beautiful trees that are in full bloom with yellow flowers against our Miami blue sky and Van Gogh’s Starry Night, I decided to put in a pinch of yellow into my blue get-up.

Ugh, back in Miami means goodbye to tights.
It means loose clothing (goodbye skinny pants) and time for me to wax my legs again so I can start wearing short dresses.
While in Raleigh I realized that I will have to get a bike with gears, a cruiser won’t make it over there.
That means goodbye Sally. 🙁
Here are Sally, Lily and I on our way out to run errands yesterday morning.

shirt, pants and sandals-

It was so beautiful out all day yesterday, we really spent most of the day out on our balcony with the exception of a long morning walk.
We walked to our favorite French bakery and picked up a fresh baguette to make lunch sandwiches with.
It was a nice and easy saturday, hope you all had a great day too!
