play

Party of two

Lily had her first play date at home yesterday.

Zura needed to run some kid-free errands and I offered to take Lien for a few hours.

It was a bit challenging for Lily to share her things and her space at first, it was the first time.

Several times she said “e meu mommy” (it’s mine mommy) and I had to explain to her that we all knew the toys were hers but Lien is her friend and came to play with her so it’s nice to share.

They colored, they played in the mini kitchen, they had lunch, they read…

I think the most fun was when they both went in the crib, they snuggled, they jumped, they laughed.

It was a fun first play date. 🙂

YUCK!

Every time singing and story time ends at the library, there is play time.

Play time is a small red basket filled with toys that all the little ones trample on each other to get to.

I cringe every time. (I’m sure I’m not the only mom)

It’s like handing them a basket of germs.

All these babies do, Lily included, is put these toys in their mouths.

I mean, how many mouths have been on each toy?

Who knows, but I cringe just thinking about it.

Morning bliss

How do you start your morning?

We start our morning playing with Lily in bed.

It’s a special family moment that always seems to be the perfect way to start every morning.

After a little play time, Will takes Lily into the living room where they have some father-daughter time.

It is then that I grab my computer and catch up on emails and start my blog posts.

Shortly after, Will and Lily bring me my cup of coffee. It’s the sweetest thing!

That one hour to myself, is my one hour of morning bliss.

Have a great weekend everyone!!

notice anything missing? my coffee. it had not yet arrived.

Still one of my favorite things…..

One of my favorite things to do with Lily when we are home is to lounge and play on mine and Will’s bed.

It is something that she and I have been doing since she was born and it never gets old.

Actually, as she gets older, it gets better!

We cuddle, wrestle, laugh, tickle, sing and every once in a while she even leans over and gives me beijinhos! (Portuguese for kisses)

It is just the best!
