ARTsy wednesday
art is still the one thing Lilian occupies herself with the most when having “down time”
and lately whether at home or at her tuesday art classes, she has created some amazing things

“a portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2020”
Lilian
kudos to this girl and her ballet school for keeping things going per usual schedule despite this pandemic we have been living in since march
zoom classes twice a week, four weeks of an intensive summer program via zoom only, safe physical classes in the studio every other saturday…
it takes great dedication
regardless, they actually pulled off the nutcraker like they have every year within covid standards
this year Lilian was part of the chinese dragon
wish we could have watched her from the audience like we have for the past four years but so happy that she was able to be part of this great production again
looking forward to the video once they release it
happy monday friends!

at lowe’s where picked up a wreath, two small winter trees and some lights to decorate our front porch
this year we are not getting a christmas tree
not a real one anyway
happy monday friends
december
the last month of this crazy pandemic twenty twenty year
my birthday month
i will be forty eight this month
forty eight
almost fifty
almost half a century
and holy shit if that’s not a mind fuck
not so much over the age as a number but age as time
more often than not, i don’t feel forty eight
i certainly never even thought about forty eight
there were plenty of times when i thought i wouldn’t make it to forty eight
either by careless living or self depressed doing
but here i am
constantly shedding layers and becoming who i am supposed to be
happy friday friends
a gloomy morning
a three color painting
the power of green. and sunshine
an afternoon walk
inspired by red lately
first day of december. first dusting of snow
lots of new goodies in the shop
a pigsgiving in my old neighborhood
a dressed moment for errands and a lunch date
memories of a 6 year old Lilian
excited to get her back today for two weeks

happy monday
Lilian and i…
we have had a wonderful week
so thankful for a super short school week (only monday and tuesday)
with no school and no after school activities this week, we were able to really catch up, snuggle, hang in, watch movies, have sleepovers….
we needed this
it never feels like enough time in a week with everything going on
so thankful for this break
hope you all had a great thanksgiving
lots to be thankful for during these crazy times we are living in
happy weekend friends
last saturday out and about in matching jumpsuits

on a beautiful autumn afternoon in the river arts district
we had a great weekend together
hope yours was a great one too
happy monday
although sunny and beautiful, temperatures dropped this week and it was quite windy
as well as covid cases rising
making it perfect to just stay at home, paint, clean, reorganize, nest…
with the exception of a few outings, that’s exactly what i did
it felt like an extra long week without Lilian
but, it’s finally friday and she will be getting here before 4pm
happy weekend friends
home seen from the backyard
an afternoon walk with a favorite asheville friend
favorite color combo
food cravings
Sam and Kate
a sunny corner
a new couch

working on a picture for her art portfolio
we are going through the process of applying to two private middle schools for next year
she will be handing in an art portfolio to one of the schools this thursday as part of the application process
fingers crossed
eleven!
she’s eleven…
and this is the last year in the school she has been in since kindergarten
middle school is next
it feels like a huge step
it’s all going so fast
and these days it feels like there is more time to be apart than time to be together
and that’s the hardest part…
eleven years ago
she had a great birthday party/sleepover with close girlfriends
biden/harris. the best present Lilian could have received
a mellow and tired sunday
early school morning snuggles
a common breakfast
a reblooming orchid
a tuesday doodle
me by Lilian
a no school pod day
winter is on its way and i am so not ready…
