If you have been coming here for a while, you probably know how much I love Salt Water sandals.
Lily wore her green surfer style almost every day until she outgrew them.
Once that moment happened, there was no question in my mind about ordering her another pair.
She will probably wear Salt Waters until she one day will be big enough to say “no more”.
The first pair were ordered through Zappos however, this next pair were ordered through Little Monkey Toes because they had them for a much better price ($19.99!).
When I was a young girl living here in Beja, I grew up going to this park and playing in this miniature version of a traditional Portuguese country house.
Last year when we visited, the park was closed for renovations. I was sad I wasn’t able to share it with Lily then.
The park has since re-opened, it looks beautiful and Lily is at such a much better age to appreciate it all.
The house looks just like how I remember it.
Filled with traditional hand painted furniture, pottery, tapestries and with a carriage that is pulled by a pony that has still to appear so Lily can go for a ride.
I’m happy to finally be able to share it with Lily and that she loves playing in this “tiny house” as much as I did.
We have been back in Miami now since sunday and I finally know what it is about this place that drives me nuts.
Well, I kind of knew before but I have total confirmation now. It’s the weather!!!!
Miami’s weather kills me. Seriously.
After being in WV for a month and then coming back here to this heat, I feel so unmotivated and tired. I don’t want to do anything!
Before Lily came along, I was mostly at work in the a/c and even though I complained about the weather, it was nothing compared to how I could complain about it now from being out and about with Lily all the time.
I was so tired this week I didn’t even bother carrying my camera around. Here are some cell pics of Lily playing on Lincoln Rd.
In case you are wondering about the title of this post, it’s “Dizzy” because Lily loves to spin herself dizzy and it’s “Frenchy” because I think she looks quite French in her tee and culottes.
We are in South Carolina heading to the mountains of West Virginia so stay tuned for some West Virginia small style next week. 🙂
As always, linking up to Morgan, the hostess of Small Style.

Seriously, I cannot believe she will be 2 years old in 3 months.
She is quite the busy and talkative little chick these days. (Will and I are in constant disbelief of all the words she says daily both in English and Portuguese)
Aside from all the words she knows, she is starting to put 4 and more words together in order to create sentences.
She will say things like:
“mommy. sit. book. reading” (mommy let’s read a book)
“piu piu. wings. fly” (birds fly with wings)
She has quite the Portenglish vocabulary going on. lol
She knows practically all the colors now and compares them to her favorite Sesame Street characters.
She will say:
“pink. purple. Abby”
“orange. Ernie”
“lellow. Bert”
“brown. Snuffy”
“Elmo.” (red)
“gueen. Oscas”
She continues to love books the most but also really enjoys her crayons, markers and coloring books.
We think she’s a keeper. 😉

Saturday afternoon, Will and I took Lily to see Winnie the Pooh, her first movie. (I will write more and post pics during the week)
Yesterday, instead of going to the beach like we normally do, I suggested we go to Isla Morada to feed the tarpon (fish).
Will, Darren and I used to go down there often but hadn’t been since Lily was born.
At Robbie’s, we fed the tarpon (Lily was amazed by the size of the fish), had lunch and then decided to go kayaking.
Because 400 pictures were taken yesterday (by me, Darren and Will), it is going to take me a while to pick and choose (and edit) so, this post is dedicated to the kayaking (and last part) of our trip.
It was Lily’s (and mine) first time kayaking and she loved it! (and I did too!)
We rented a 3 seater so Lily could sit in the middle and paddled all the way to Indian Island.
Lily willingly put on the little life vest and sat in the middle with no problem (even though there were no belts or anything), she loved stopping along the way to swim around, she enjoyed walking around and explore the island once we got there….
It was a great day filled with fun, we will definitely have to do it again soon.
Hope you all had a great weekend as well. Happy first day of august!
P.S.- I love my new hat that I had to purchase at Robbie’s because I left the house without one AND…. Lily’s Salt Water sandals rocked in the salt water!!!!
