Happy monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.
So, as I mentioned before, we had Lily’s birthday party on saturday.
Our dear friends Michael and Robbie moved into their beautiful new home 3 weeks ago and were brave enough to let us throw the party in their back yard.
Will and I made pasta salad, cheese and cucumber sandwiches, sweet potato chips, shrimp. D made fruit salad. Our neighbor made the cake. There was juice for the kids and wine for the adults.
The weather was perfect. All the kids played together and ran around having fun the whole time.
We may not have family here in Miami but, we are blessed with friends that are like family and most of them came out and helped celebrate Lily’s birthday.
Lily had a great time and that was the most important thing.
Thank you everyone again for coming and for all the wonderful gifts! xoxo
Sara and I met about 5 years ago through our dear friend Alex.
When we met, we bonded over Alex, fashion, art, photography, little did we know that years later we would also be bonding over children.
When I think of Sara, I think of the beautiful classic Hollywood movie stars.
When this mama dresses up, she exudes star quality.
Trust me when I tell you that I have never seen a bad picture of this beauty.
But most of all, Sara is one of the most giving people I have met in Miami.
She has a heart of gold. (when she found out I was pregnant with Lily, she dropped off bags of goodies 🙂 )
I share with you my friend Sara, the queen to her little princes, Sam and Simon.
Yesterday we finally had our picnic at Southpoint that got rained out last week.
It ended up being a smaller group than what was expected but just as much fun!
We put down some blankets on the grass under the shade of a big tree, there were lots of yummy things to eat, Lily, Sofia and Sam played so well together…
It was a great time! (it stared at 10am, we didn’t leave until 3pm!)
Yesterday ended up being quite the busy day!
I decided at 9:20a.m. (Lily’s usual morning nap time) to grab Lily and take her over to the Miami Beach Library for story telling time.
There we met up with our friends Sara and Sam and sat in a circle amongst lots of other boys, girls and mommies.
We heard stories and sang songs like Itsy Bitsy Spider and Lily was SO good! She is so happy around other kids. We will definitely have to do it again.
After story time at the Library we came home and Lily had lunch on the balcony. It was such a lovely day!
At 1p.m. we were back out to meet uncle Michael for lunch on Lincoln Rd.. Even though Lily had just had lunch, she ate some yummy sweet potato off my plate.
It was definitely nap time once lunch was over. Lily was getting quite cranky from not having her morning nap. She fell asleep as soon as we got home.
After a much needed nap and some more yummy food, we went to the park where we met up with Claudia and Sofia (Lily’s bff).
The park is one of Lily’s favorite places nowadays and with a buddy like Sofia to play with, it’s even more fun. She has gotten quite used to the whole routine and she just loves it. She has even cried a few times as we were getting ready to leave. (Yes, already!)
It was a busy and fun tuesday!
Here is Lily yesterday at The Miami Beach Library on the mat and with our friend Sara. And later at the park with Sofia on the swings. Lily wears pants by babyGap that were a gift from avo Hayes and aunt Sarah and top by Old Navy.
Our friend Sara lent us this Sassy bouncy/jumper before Lily was even born and although we only have 1 real door frame to hang it from, Lily LOVES it!
It just so happens that the door frame is on the bedroom door to the balcony. Lily loves being on the balcony looking at the sky and the trees so, it’s perfect! 😉
Thank you Sara and Sam!
When we went over to our friend Sara’s house, we saw she had one of these Twilight Turtles for her cutie pie son Sam. When we asked her what she thought of it, she told us how wonderful it was and how much even SHE loved it!
Not that we don’t like turtles but, since we are having an owl and other birds themed imaginary room, we think the Twilight Ladybug is a better fit. 😉
Our friend Sara also introduced us to our favorite socks when she gave us a box for our baby shower.
They are a Maryjane style with a little rose on the side. 6 pairs of bright colored socks.
Everyone always thinks that Lily is wearing socks with shoes. 😉
Our friend Sara was kind enough to hand one of these down to us last night and we just LOVE it!!
It’s an Aden and Anais classic swaddle. It is 100% cotton muslin. The fabric’s light, open weave allows a baby’s body temperature to regulate itself naturally which helps to prevent overheating.
They make swaddles, blankets, sleeping bags, burpy bibs, towels and wash cloths all in super soft, dreamy prints.
So thank you Sara and Sam for sharing the goods and the knowledge!
