skirt

skirting the issue

i know i have said it on here that i’m not really a skirt girl because well, i have always been a jeans and dresses kind of girl

but…. i have changed my mind

lately i can’t get enough of skirts

flowy midi, hi-lo skirts (the ones above are from zara and f21)

i want them in all different colors and prints

so, i guess what i’m trying to say is that i’m a skirt girl after all

what about you?

are you a skirt lover too?

Raptured

Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a great weekend.

No, we weren’t raptured. I just didn’t know what to title this post and was inspired by Will’s shirt for The Rapture.

We had Lily’s 2nd birthday party yesterday and it was a success.

I have a lot of pictures to go through before I share them with you on here but, I wanted to participate in Mandy’s Steppin’ Out because it has been quite a while.

So, here is what we wore. Come back tomorrow to see pics of the party!

Ola

Friday night I helped K do some shopping, we had a great dinner at Ola and went dancing at Purdy!

While getting ready for the night, I had some wardrobe issues.

Do you guys ever look into your full closets and yet feel like you have nothing to wear?

That is how I felt while I was getting ready so… I just decided to throw on some of my favorite items and hoped that they would work.

Lily on the other hand, got a new Mimosa shirt in the mail and of course had to put it on right away. (thank you Holly and Ariel!)

Bad teacher, a girl movie date

I’m loving my weekly (or almost weekly) dates with K.

This past wednesday we went to see Bad teacher.

We snuck in some champagne and chips (what, you don’t? you should) and enjoyed Cameron Diaz in a funny performance.

After the movie we had some pizza and wine and afterwards headed over to K’s house where we had the most fun playing with all her clothes.

It was so great trying to see what I could come up with in someone else’s closet.

We both decided that pencil skirts and head scarves are definitely the way to go for this fall. 😉

A girl date

Wednesday night I had a dinner and movie date with auntie K.

I left Will and Lily playing in the pool and auntie K and I headed over to Books&Books for dinner and then to the movies to see The Tree of Life.

The food at Books&Books was great as always (love that place) but the movie???

I feel like I didn’t get what I wanted.

Don’t get me wrong, I love artsy flicks more than your average person but, I feel like The Tree of Life was trying too hard. (as well as having too much science/discovery channel scenes)

I also feel like every movie I have watched lately has no ending and I’m tired of “make up your own ending” kind of movies.

Have any of you seen The Tree of Life?

What did you think?

Salt Water style

One thing I have learned about living here in Miami is that when it comes to shoes, Lily really doesn’t need more than 2 pairs at a time.

I overbought shoes in the first year (because I’m a bit of a shoe freak) but, I learned my lesson.

As many wonderful kids shoes as there are out there, there is no need to spend money where money shouldn’t be spent.

So, this Spring/Summer season, Lily has 2 pairs of sandals.

If you have been coming here for Small Style, you know that they are the green Salt Waters (the green was on sale for a great price and it just so happens to go with EVERYTHING!) and the brown and fuschia Soft Star Shoes.

And you know what?

When those get small, I will just get her the same brands in a different color or style because they are wonderful!

Lily rocked her green Salt Waters all week long! 🙂

Morgan at Mama loves Papa is the hostess to Small Style, go on over and link up!

Mommy Style Update

How was your cinco de Mayo yesterday?

I don’t know why but I have celebrated and love celebrating this holiday for quite sometime.

We ate Mexican food for lunch and then later on went to El Rancho Grande to check out what was going on.

We ended up at Zeke’s with just regular $4.00 beer. 😉

It’s friday… have a great weekend everyone!

Mommy Style Update

I’m obsessed with a touch of HOT pink lately.

I’m still searching for the perfect shade of pink lipstick but until then, this GapKids belt (yes, it’s kids) will do.

Sunday late afternoon we went over to Max’s house for a delicious meal that he and his mom made.

He lives a bit north of us right on the water and has the most beautiful view out of his balcony.

We had a great night.
