A saturday afternoon with daddy

Saturday afternoon while I went on a little shopping outing with a friend, Lily and Will had some daughter and daddy time to themselves.

Will took Lily to the park at South Point.

A great park that was renovated a while ago where you can catch some great sunsets as well as watch the ships go by.

They had a great time!

All photos by Will (aka Lily’s dad). Not only is he a great husband and father but he is also an awesome photographer. 😉

It’s complicated

Mine and Will’s relationship with Miami is….. complicated.

There are many things we love about this place. Our friends, the beach, the great community we now have around us, how easy it is to get around, the variety of culture, the art scene, our friends (did I mention friends already? we really love our friends)…

There are many things we hate about it too. How hot it is all year long (I think it’s hot 10 months out of the year), the lack of seasons (both Will and I really miss Fall), how flat the scenery is (it’s FLAT here!), how far Miami is from everything (if you drive for 5 hours, you are still in Florida and everything is still FLAT!)…

And just when we talk about moving out of state again (Raleigh, NC is still #1 choice), I have wonderful days like yesterday only to make things more complicated!

Lily and I had an amazing morning at the beach. It really couldn’t have been more amazing. (only Will there would have made it more amazing)

I didn’t even realize…

This whole past week I felt a day behind.

I didn’t even realize that yesterday was friday!

I usually wish you all a good weekend so that is what I came here to do.

This weekend will be to decompress, clean and organize.

I feel like we have been on the go, go, go for a while. (august has been quite the full month)

Have a great weekend everyone!

Here are some pictures taken yesterday during sunset at The Standard Hotel. (I always wish it was my house because I love the way it is decorated)

A sunset

I love a good sunset. (who doesn’t, right?)

And that is just what we had the other day.

A blanket, some wine, cheese, the whole family and bubbles!!!!! 🙂 (you should really click on the bubble pictures so you can really see the bubbles)

It was the perfect way to end an already perfect day.

West coast sunset

Lily was feeling much better by the time she woke up on saturday and since we had promised our friends we would pay them a visit, to Naples we went this weekend.

Despite me feeling completely run down, we had a great time on the west coast of Florida.

The best moment was watching the sun set on the ocean.

We went to the beach at around 7p.m., did some swimming, collected pretty shells (much prettier than the ones we get here in Miami) and then walked towards the Naples pier to catch one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen in a while.

Watching the sun set on the ocean reminded me of when I used to live in San Diego, CA. San Diego has the most beautiful sunsets.

My favorite thing to do when I lived there was to go sit on a cliff in La Jolla and watch the sun set on the ocean while listening to the waves crash on the cliffs. It always seemed like the most wonderful way to end the day.

It was a short trip, it seemed like a short weekend altogether but well worth it! We even saw a dolphin swimming around during the sunset. 🙂

Here are some wonderful moments from this weekend, including the beautiful sunset. Lily wears a hat by Patagonia and pajamas by Old Navy.

Things we LOVE!

Almost every afternoon between 5-6pm, since it is Lily’s cranky time, we try to take a walk by the water to catch the sunset.

We are once again very fortunate to live by the water and that it is only a 5 minute walk to the bay.

Nothing like ending the day watching the sun go down. We LOVE it!

Here are some recent sunsets and Lily yesterday in her Frog wearing a dress by Old Navy, cardigan and shoes by babyGap and tights by Zutano.
