it rained here all day sunday
Our dearest Darren is embarking on a long trip to Africa to go on safari.
He will be gone through Christmas until the new year.
We wish him the safest of travels and a wonderful journey.
Love you D!!! Be safe and have fun.
P.S.- Don’t forget to bring Lily an elephant, giraffe or a zebra!
Things around here have been pretty back to normal and relatively easy.
It took a while after being away for so long, then Lily got sick with hand-foot-and-mouth disease and don’t even get me started on how this past mercury retrograde affected me but, we made it through.
Yesterday I did 4 loads of laundry and today we will be packing because tomorrow we will be flying out to West Virginia.
We are all eager to see family, the mountains and of course the much anticipated holidays.
Here are some cell pics.
Have a great wednesday everyone!
With summer around the corner, I’m sure many of you are making your travel plans.
If you are planning a trip with your family on a budget, you should really check them out.
Hostels have come a long (long, long) way.
There is even a little tip in there from yours truly. 😉
Lily’s passport arrived today.
She can finally go visit her family who so anxiously awaits to meet her in Portugal in September. (now all we need are tickets)
Go Lily, Go!
And on that note, HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE! I will be meeting up with one of my best friends who I have not seen in more than 3 years.
(And please vote for us. http://www.topbabyblogs.com/cgi-bin/topblogs/in.cgi?id=claudiag. Thank you!)

Thinking about vacation (August in West Virginia and September in Portugal) always gets me excited.
As excited as I get about being away and being somewhere totally different, I also get homesick.
You see, as much as I like to travel, I also really love being home surrounded by my favorite things.
So, this got me thinking: what are my favorite things?
There are quite a few.
in the bedroom
Since we slept at uncle Darren’s house last night and will again for the next 2 nights, I thought about how adaptable of a baby Lily is.
She is not even 3 months old and spent almost half of her life at her grandparents in West Virginia, has stayed at 2 hotels for 3 nights, went to Morgantown and slept over at her cousin Adelaide’s house for 2 nights, and now here we are at uncle Darren’s house for 3 nights.
For the most part she just chills during the day and at night sleeps relatively well.
I do however make sure that I always have a few of her toys and definitely her blankets. This way, she won’t feel like she is in a completely strange place.
Adaptability is something I think everyone should have. If you adapt well, most likely you make a good traveler. And traveling, I feel, is the best thing for someone’s growth and we LOVE to travel!
