we are home. in Miami
when we left Beja yesterday it was 6am Portugal time (1am Miami time)
Lily was awake during the whole flight from Lisboa to Philly and awake the whole flight from Philly to Miami
except for the last 5 minutes before landing
she slept through the whole baggage claim and the car ride
when we got home, i put her in her bed and she didn’t even budge
at around 4:30 this morning, she walked into our room and said:
“is this my yellow house mommy?”
after i replied “yes Lily. we are home”, she said “i love my yellow house”
as sleepy and tired as i was, it warmed my heart to know that no matter where we go and how far, she loves coming home
just like i do
i picked her up and put her in bed with us with the hopes that she would go back to sleep for a couple more hours but no such luck
after tossing and turning for about 20 minutes she said “i want to go play”
of course she did. it was just about 9am Portugal time
past her wake up time
while Lily plays, i am writing this post in bed, with a cup of coffee next to me and it’s not even 6am
even though i wish i was still sleeping, i am happy to be home
happy sunday everyone
our time here in Dataw Island, SC has been wonderful
so much so that when we talk about leaving every morning, we decide to stay instead
we are still here
we might leave today. or tomorrow
we definitely have to be home by sunday
it’s been a wonderful week of fun and relaxation
happy friday and i wish you all a great weekend
we are still here enjoying family and the beautiful landscape
have a great day everyone
well friends, we are off to west virginia for two weeks this afternoon
we are driving there so don’t be alarmed when you don’t see a new post on here for a few days
as you can see from the video above, Lily is super duper excited
and so are Will and i
family and mountain air, here we come
have a great weekend everyone!
We made it home safely from West Virginia.
It was a long day yesterday and seriously, Lily is an angel.
Have a great weekend everyone!
We are here!
We arrived yesterday in Charleston, WV after a short 2 hour flight from Ft Lauderdale and went straight to aunt Maury’s house where we had a lot of family there to greet us.
We slept over and when we woke up this chilly morning we got on the road to Slatyfork.
It’s in the 30’s and it feels wonderful.
Have a great weekend everyone!
We have been back for almost a week and it has been wonderful but also a little hard when it comes to adjusting.
The first morning we were here, Lily woke up at 5:30am. (way too early)
The next morning at 6:30am. (a little better)
The third morning (sunday) she finally woke up at 7:30 (the usual) only for it to actually be 6:30am due to the time change. (can’t I get a break!?)
It’s a 5 hour time difference that when it comes to bed and wake up time, kind of throws things a little off.
The best thing to do is to just go about the present time. Which is what we have been doing but, I must say I’m having a bit of a hard time with it myself.
Two nights ago I was asleep by 9pm and up by 6am.
Last night I was asleep by 10pm (a bit more normal) but, I’m writing this post at 6am and I’ve been up since 4:30am. (totally not normal)
The older I get the harder it gets for me and the more I notice things like daylight savings.
I hope to soon be back to regular timing. Whatever that is.
Here are some cell pics of our almost week here.
Oh! And I know I said I would start mamas&their babies when I would get back from vacation but, as you can see, I’m still adjusting. However, go see Natasha as a beautiful mama in her own mamas&their babies segment. And stay tuned becauseI have some beautiful mamas&their babies stored for you!
