in new york city (exciting!)
not only have i not been up north since 2008 but i haven’t been to a wedding in soooo long
and i love weddings!
sure i could try to find something to wear in my closet but, it’s not every day you go to a dear friend’s wedding and weddings are always a good opportunity to get dressed up
so….. i stopped in at zara and played a little dress up
out of everything in there, there were three pieces that captured me
i didn’t make a purchase
i actually left zara empty handed. shocking!
the three items have a bit of a pricey total all together
but i keep thinking about everything
especially the shoes. which i think might be more of a must since believe it or not, i have no dressy shoes
what say you?
love it? or hate it?
Happy monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend.
Autumn is around the corner. The temperature and the leaves have changed since we got here to West Virginia.
Autumn has always been one of my favorite seasons, not just because of the changing of the leaves and the cooler temperatures but, because of its fashion.
I love Fall fashion! All the sweaters, scarves, tights, boots…
Zara is one of those places that has been good to me for over a decade now. It always fits me well. From shoes, to coats, to pants. It usually all works.
So, I logged on a few nights ago to see what they came up with for Fall-Winter of 2011.
As usual, they didn’t disappoint. There are beautiful coats, trousers, skirts, dresses… and I love their color palette!
Then I checked the girls collection.
Oh my, it is wonderful!
Here are a few of my favorite picks. For Lily of course. 😉
What do you think? Do you have a favorite?
Friday late afternoon when Will got home from work, we both had the same thought in mind: family happy hour.
So, the 3 of us quickly changed and headed out the door.
Before the rain came, we got to walk around Lincoln Rd a bit and have a drink.
I had an Orange Blossom Pilsner which I had never tried before but loved!
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. 🙂
Linking up with Mandy for Steppin’ Out.
sunglasses. on me: Marc by Marc Jacobs. on Will: Jackthreads. on Lily: Gymboree
Wednesday night I had a dinner and movie date with auntie K.
I left Will and Lily playing in the pool and auntie K and I headed over to Books&Books for dinner and then to the movies to see The Tree of Life.
The food at Books&Books was great as always (love that place) but the movie???
I feel like I didn’t get what I wanted.
Don’t get me wrong, I love artsy flicks more than your average person but, I feel like The Tree of Life was trying too hard. (as well as having too much science/discovery channel scenes)
I also feel like every movie I have watched lately has no ending and I’m tired of “make up your own ending” kind of movies.
Have any of you seen The Tree of Life?
What did you think?

Last friday I joined auntie K and some of her co-workers for happy hour at Doraku.
I decided to wear one of my favorite Zara pants.
I purchased them in 2009 when I was pregnant with Lily, wore them throughout my pregnancy and I still wear them all the time.
I read in either Elle or Bazaar that harem pants should be “stored away”.
You know what though?
I can’t store them away.
I love my harem military pants and no matter what fashion says, I will continue on wearing them.
Do you have items like that?
Items that you love so much that even though fashion says “store away” you can’t?
It is days like yesterday that make Will and I look at each other and say “I am so glad we decided to stay in Miami”.
We spent the morning at the beach and in the afternoon we went for a ride in the car to check out all the graffiti in Wynwood. (I have been wanting to go back and take pictures for a while)
We walked around, checked out some awesome graffiti, took pictures and found the Wynwood Kitchen and Bar where we decided to sit outside and have some dinner.
Let me stop for a second and tell you about the Wynwood Kitchen and Bar, I have never eaten at a place with SO much AMAZING art all around.
AMAZING! (and the food was pretty good too)
So, where else could we live where we could have the beach and awesome urban city life also?
Miami, we are so happy we stayed. 🙂
This post is picture heavy because not only was there amazing art everywhere but, I also want to show you “my” Miami.
Not the Miami The Real Housewives of Miami show you. 😉
